I have tried to teach her to spell her name but tbh it looks like hieroglyphics, plus she is left handed so draws everything from the bottom rather than the top so looks a bit squiffy, lol.
Alice does things funny ways round and she's right handed. When she writes her name it looks like H, l, i, back to front c which is almost an o, and then what would be a back to front e if she didn't carry on going round and round.

Susan, I second M&Co for tights, my Aunt bought Aimee some lovely patterned ones in size 7-8... I might have seen some in M&S once too, but shall go and investigate that one...

Edit: They seem to go up to 6-7 in the pretty patterned younger girls ones but the older girls patterned ones all seem to have varying patterns of grey in? I wonder if that's the current fashion colour or just because they assume they'll be worn to school...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • If I remember rightly Elle had siimilar problems a few years ago :(

You would think that they would be a bit more sensitive.

I've had trouble with them not removing me from their mailing list too.

Susan there is a service called Baby MPS which should help,

I do try and teach her things but she would much rather draw a picture than try and write her name, should I be encouraging her more? She does seem very creative, she drew all over herself the other day, but managed to incorperate the freckle (or eckle as she calls it) in on the doodle, the freckle was the pupil in the middle of an eye, in the grand scheme of her masterpiece.

Im at my mums right now and she is playing hide & seek with Ellie and Carly, and she is counting, she gets to 16 and screams out a hundred, here I come ready or not!! Also she keeps dropping her T's (common Scottish issue :p) so It's -

Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thir'eeeeeeen, Four'eeeeeen. Wheres that paddle of mine, need to beat it outta her, and of course, I never ever drop my T's......~ wan some tat'ehs, pass eh buh'her.
  • Not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, but here goes.

My 10 year old daughter quite often comes out of school in tears. Her so called friends spend a couple of days being nice and then we get a spell of nastyness.

Last week they decided to have a whispering campaign and leave my daughter out. The secret was the most trivial thing you could imagine. One of her "friends" said she wanted to tell her but the others stopped her from doing so. This child was about to go on holiday for two weeks so my daughter rang her to wish her a good holiday. This then caused further problems with the other girls who then were nasty about her making the phonecall.

We had issues with another bully last year and I had to go to the head teacher. This made things worse for her because the head pulled the bully and then asked her friends what had been going on. The "friends" then became nasty because they didnt like being called into the Head.

My daughter is in the last year of juniors so next year there will be 100 new pupils to mix with but I need to get her through this last year and I am unsure what to do.

    Anyone else had similar problems.

If she's drawing then she's developing the same fine motor skills she needs for writing so at this stage I wouldn't be particularly concerned about whether she's writing actual letters if she doesn't seem that interested.

Hi Kazza. To be honest, I think it's just a girl thing. They're generally horrible. :(
My big DD is 9 almost 10, just started year 5, and I often can't keep up with who's friends with who this week. They've been like this for a couple of years.
It was worse when there were 5 close friends in their little group, so they'd always be two sets of best freinds and one left out. But my DD has distanced herself from this group, she says they're boring :p and has joined a group of girls who seem less nasty/!!!!!y.

Could you encourage your DD to make other friends in the class outside the group of horrid girls?
