Birthday party question- if you were invited to a party (first birthday) 12-2pm you would expect there to be lunch for the little ones, yes? Just checking as we are going to one next week and it would be a bit early to have lunch before that.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

just the worst thing knowing how your day is going to be from the start, forcing yourself in all worn out. Hope it's a low-stress day.
My boy is very odd - I just had him in his highchair having some breakfast while I made toast. He randomly said "the leaves are brown" and this prompted me to sing a few lines of California Dreaming.
When I stopped, he became very distressed and started shouting "CHURCH!". he wouldn't calm down til I sang the next verse (about a church), and then when I tried to stop he sternly told me "Preacher!" til I did the verse after. I am not a good singer(!), and to my knowledge I've never sung it to him before... maybe OH has... ponder.0 -

I would expect a lunch. You could always pop something nibbly in your bag just in case though!
Raining here today, so there goes my gardening plans for this afternoon. Off to work this morning, so hoping it brightens up while I'm out.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
That is both very cute and very clever of E, Bruno! Sadly work is rarely low stress and the best I can hope for is a full work force and a timely finish!
It's lovely here, Becles, so hopefully it will brighten up for you.
Got to go and pick up MIL to look after H so I can go to work.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hi all,
Not a regular poster on this thread but after a bit of advice if anyone can help? My 2 year old dd has recently started squealing, like all the time!! Whether it be excited squealing or tantrum spuealing, doesnt matter whats going on, she'll squeal and its so bloody loud! And high pitched, it just goes right through me! Is this just another way she has found to express herself? Id rather she spoke than squealed lol.
Thanks in advance

Morning
Gisi - ((hugs)) for rubbish night. Oh and yes would expect food at party.
bexta - meant to say yesterday am with you on the cleaning. The house is generally tidy and dishes and clothes get done but hoovering and dusting seem such a mission. With the place being so small its major cluttered and the place is desperatley in need of new carpets and a coat of paint so that doesnt help.
Becky - fairies flew yesterday
Bruno - E is so clever, you must let us know if OH sing that song to him.
T is currently eationg and loving a mix of marmite on toast and dairyleaCan T have peanut (or other type) butter? I know they cant have whole nuts but are mushed ones ok?
Hopefully OH will get out of his pit soon too as I have things I want to do. Food shopping and Im making him buy me a new ironing board while we are at MrTs (am so fed up of the one we have collapsing and squishing my fingers!). Then I need to sort out T's clothes, I still have 0-3 months to shift then I can put the 3-6 out as she'll be in them for a few months yet still. Then I want to go thru the 6-9 and 9-12 and make a list of what we have, that way if Im tempted by sale stuff I only buy what we need.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Morning!
Weird, I know I posted a reply late last night and it's gone? But said that Beenie, I posted that link yesterday morning & Susan, maybe Alice's crying was just because it was all new & exciting and if you do it a few more times she'll hopefully learn & be fine.
Lunch with ILs today as they're going to be down here for something or another. I don't mind, as get free baby minders and free lunch.

Som, nuts are supposed to be a risk due to serious allergy potential, until they're older and less fragile; but that said I think we gave E some peanut butter at 6-7 months so I dunno what I'm talking about
DM11, my son is 25 months and went through a squealing screaming mini-phase a few weeks ago - for a couple weeks he was doing much what you described, but we were disapproving and he is now only occasionally doing it. So hopefully it will pass fast for you like it did for us, good luck!0 -

It's just a phase. Screaming makes my skin crawl, so I usually told them off firmly and said not to do it again. That worked! Here I go again on my own....0 -
