Mookie - I don't know about stopping using high chairs, but we've been using a table and chairs since Izzy was just over 1 I think. Means I can't strap her in and keep her put though, so getting a cheap high chair while you can still get away with it might not be a bad plan
We tried the table and chair thing tonight for dinner but she wouldnt keep still. She never keeps still in fact and I mean never! Hubby thinks theres something wrong with her - but he's just mean

My horror of a child broke her highchair tonight by trying to climb into it using the footrest. It just sort of snapped. I hated it anyway because she was too far from the tray and it reclined too much so she looked uncomfortable. So i'm secretly pleased and gave her a gingerbread man to celebrate the demise of the rubbish highchair!
Anyways, I'm looking for a new one now and was thinking about the Ikea antilop. But considering she's 15 months I was wondering how long it was likely she would use it/be able to sit in it for. Can anyone give me an indication?
Love to all xxxx
Hello
I used the highchair with both my older two until they were somewhere between 1.5-2yrs old, I thinks ds1 was nearer 2yrs and ds2 was nearer 1.5yrs:) Not much help, but tbh if she is a good eater and will sit still whilst doing so, I wouldn't bother with one.... I think I will need a highchair for ds3 until he is about 5yrs:rotfl:Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

sounds like jas! i did intend to use the table for all meals when i first got it but it was too stressful (for me lol), jake was a really chilled out baby and i got rid of his before he was 2 i think, i would go for a highchair esp since its cheap x0 -
Mookie you clearly need to take him to toddler group with you on his day off! Has he never met a child before. Something wrong with her because she won't sit still. :rotfl:

Benjamin is a strapping boy of 18 months (filling out his 18-24 month clothes) and he still fits in his fine. He can sit at the table with us but he faffs too much to be honest.
For ten quid it is definitely worth it
please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman
