    evening all,

hugs for poorly babies and mummys and yay for enjoying 1st days

    ...

On feeding news, had awful night ended up getting oh up while i had to go for a drive as was ready to do something drastic. Phoned the helpline and spoke to lovely lady who was really helpful and soooo non-judgemental and it was really good just to vent to her, she gave me some tips but reminded me that my sanity was important too. Tried various different positions etc but this afternoon went and bought a tin of formula, fed her 4 oz which she guzzled down like there was tomorrow then promptly fell asleep for 4 hours. I got two hours sleep had a bath sorted some housework and felt like a new person. So have decided to express what I can and give formula as needed. It was getting to the point I couldn't bear to be near her incase she was hungry and decided it was more important to have a baby that I can stand to be near and not hate for simply being hungry. Feel like a the world has been lifted off me and I can finally enjoy my daughter.

Sorry for epic post but needed to get it all off my chest, feel free to ignore!!!!!!

Anyone use a breadmaker here? my dad has offered me his cos he never uses it, ive no worktop space though, but would be good if the bread turns out nice, but does it work out cheaper after you've bought the flour/yeast ect? saying that would be handy when we've run out of bread and i cba going shop lol!

I save £250 a year making my own bread, based on me fergie and DH's current consumption. A £50 breadmaker would pay for itself quite quickly if your recipe was similar to my hand made one. I don't have a breadmaker though so I'm not sure if it's an exact comparison.

  • thanks guys, honestly its so weird, the whole house just seems more relaxed, i've not snapped at ds since he came home from school, the kitchen is clean(ish) dd seems calmer too, think she must of been picking up on how frustrated and upset I was and I really don't want her thinking I hate her.

Think still gonna check out booby group on wednesday and see if they can help as if it can be comfortable I'll definetley give it another go, but equally not gonna beat myself up as I've given it my best go!!

can't remember who was talking about schools, but we have chosen to send ds to a private school for a few reasons. I went to a horrible school where there was a lot of bullying, drugs, someone once brought a gun to school! locking teachers in cupboards etc etc and vowed i would make sure my children did not have to go through that, secondly there wrap around care allows him to be looked after from 7.30 untill 6.30 at night which whilst he won't have such a long day every day it will be necessary on occasion and having been to a few childminders to have a look really wasn't impressed! Also the school ds was offered have a class of 30 as the school is really over subscribed and he's one of these children that will quite easily blend into the background and needs pushing to try anything that he's not confident about, the class he's in has 8 children and a full time teaching assistant as well as the teacher. With us both working full time by the time I'd of picked him up he'll be ready for bed and not capable of doing a great deal with us.

Anyway just thought i'd share that..

  • Hi all,

My baby is still not 100% but thankfully no more vomiting after the big up-chucking event of the year. We did have to drag him out of bed at 6am though so we could chuck him in the shower and wash the sick out of his hair and ears

I had the second interview in Bristol this morning. Looking positive but might not be the job of my dreams after all. I should find out in the next few days.

My lovely friend (the one from the BF picnic last year for those who were there) has received the all clear from her cancer specialist today - such fantastic news :D

Hmmm - I tried to read but my head is spinning. MDW - what a !!!!!! your boss is. Good luck in the job hunt - the industry isn't great ATM but good QS's are always in demand xx

Glad Benjamin is feeling a bit better MFD. Will you have to travel to Bristol for work if you take the job, or is that just where the interview happened to be?

Brilliant news about your friend too.

There will be some work in Bristol and some possibly further afield...which is why it is not necessarily ideal.

Anyone already feeling tearful about watching Tig's programme? Or is it just because I have had a tough day?
