Becles, how did Charlotte get on today?
She got on really well thanks. She said she played with some other boys and girls but can't remember their names. She painted a picture and did another picture with glue and pasta. She's played outside too nd her legs are filthy because I forgot to take her wellies in

Hope you're dads on the mend pp,
Anyone use a breadmaker here? my dad has offered me his cos he never uses it, ive no worktop space though, but would be good if the bread turns out nice, but does it work out cheaper after you've bought the flour/yeast ect? saying that would be handy when we've run out of bread and i cba going shop lol!0 -
I have one JM... It fits on top of my cupboards out of the way... My yeast always ends up going out of date before I've used it up though lol...
The bread is a lot nicer... And you can play about with it, make fruit loaves and pizza bases and things...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I had one briefly (my mum gave me my dad's old one when he upgraded) but I couldn't get it to make decent bread and find it easier to just make it manually. It was an absolute bottom of the range one though. Making your own bread is definitely loads cheaper (last time I checked my organic wholemeal bread cost about the same as the very cheapest bottom of the range bread you can buy) but I couldn't tell you how many loaves you'd need to make for a breadmaker to repay itself.Jakesmummy wrote: »Anyone use a breadmaker here? my dad has offered me his cos he never uses it, ive no worktop space though, but would be good if the bread turns out nice, but does it work out cheaper after you've bought the flour/yeast ect? saying that would be handy when we've run out of bread and i cba going shop lol!Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

evening all,
hugs for poorly babies and mummys and yay for enjoying 1st days
can't remember who was talking about schools, but we have chosen to send ds to a private school for a few reasons. I went to a horrible school where there was a lot of bullying, drugs, someone once brought a gun to school! locking teachers in cupboards etc etc and vowed i would make sure my children did not have to go through that, secondly there wrap around care allows him to be looked after from 7.30 untill 6.30 at night which whilst he won't have such a long day every day it will be necessary on occasion and having been to a few childminders to have a look really wasn't impressed! Also the school ds was offered have a class of 30 as the school is really over subscribed and he's one of these children that will quite easily blend into the background and needs pushing to try anything that he's not confident about, the class he's in has 8 children and a full time teaching assistant as well as the teacher. With us both working full time by the time I'd of picked him up he'll be ready for bed and not capable of doing a great deal with us.
Anyway just thought i'd share that..
On feeding news, had awful night ended up getting oh up while i had to go for a drive as was ready to do something drastic. Phoned the helpline and spoke to lovely lady who was really helpful and soooo non-judgemental and it was really good just to vent to her, she gave me some tips but reminded me that my sanity was important too. Tried various different positions etc but this afternoon went and bought a tin of formula, fed her 4 oz which she guzzled down like there was tomorrow then promptly fell asleep for 4 hours. I got two hours sleep had a bath sorted some housework and felt like a new person. So have decided to express what I can and give formula as needed. It was getting to the point I couldn't bear to be near her incase she was hungry and decided it was more important to have a baby that I can stand to be near and not hate for simply being hungry. Feel like a the world has been lifted off me and I can finally enjoy my daughter.
Sorry for epic post but needed to get it all off my chest, feel free to ignore!!!!!!0 -
Jakesmummy, I have one. I don't like the way it bakes regular bread (bakes small but high loaves with a dent in the bottom where the thingy is) so I tend to use it to make dough then bake it in the oven. The fruit cake always turns out lush though. And it makes great pizza dough in an hour and a half, so I do use that a lot.
I'd say I use it a few times a month at least, sometimes more.
But, weezls no knead bread turns out just as lovely and is also easy to do. You could give that a go first. But if you are getting it for nowt, take it.0 -
Oh, I have a panasonic breadmaker which I love more than any other kitchen gadget, just throw everything in before we go to bed and have a loaf ready in the morning, also make cinammon fruit loaf and to wake up to the smell is heavenly and can set timer so its warm when we get up, love it!!
(think i have breadmaker fetish)0 -
I've been doing some sums,
just worked out at current exchange rate that Amazon vouchers are much better value on swagbucks than the paypal one
Amazon costs 169.8 Sbucks for £1
Paypal is 216.7 Sbucks for £1
Also not sure if paypal would charge you a fee?
Sami - I used paypal a few times before they put the uk amazon vouchers on and there's no fee. The amazon voucher is definitely better unless you particularly want the cash though.
I must confess to a bit of bingoport copy and pasting also!
3 - thanks for the cherry has a baby reminder! I have a lot to do tonight so will have to watch it behind time.
MDW -:mad::mad: at your work. Well done for standing up for yourself though.
Pink Princess - hope you're ok. My dad had to have an emergency op a couple of years ago and I've never been so scared in my life. *hugs*
*hugs* Becky. Sounds like you've had an awful time of it. Glad you are feeling better now. If you wanted to you could potentially co-feed and give her breast for some feeds and forumla for others. My cousin did this and found it fitted into her life much better as she couldn't always be with baby because of her job. You need to make sure you do the same feeds on the breast each day so that you're supply stays constant iyswim?Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Awww Becky, you sanity is imo, more important than breast milk. You can still breastfeed, I managed about 6 weeks of combined feeding before she stopped her night feeds and lost interest in boobies. I was BF her at night and in the morning but bottle feeding (expressed and formula milk) during the day.0

Glad you're feeling better Becky
:)
It's not one way or the other though, once you're feeling a bit better then it's OK to try her at the breast again if you want to... Sometimes women think it's a one way street and once you stop you can't go back but it's not... Like I said though, only if you want to
