White Car?
Options
I have been looking at new cars recently and am considering a Focus. In the past I have always had a metallic colour which carry a premium in cost. Ford do the Focus in a non-metallic white which would save the metallic cost for me. My first though was that I wouldn't want a white car. But now I keep seeing white cars (especailly sporty ones) all over the place, and am wondering whether its a cheaper option to go with, that might actually look quite nice.
As anyone else got a white car and got no regrets? I would imagine you are always having to clean them, especially in the winter months. Is though white the new colour to have - I remember a couple of years back sliver cars and then black were all the rage.

Black is quite a bad colour in terms of cleaning/looking dirty. Wash it and it looks mucky within a few hours. Plus it shows the slight scratches and marks up like anything. I imagine white would be better in that the slight scratches will be less easy to see.0

White is the new silver. Unfortunately some manufacturers are charging a premium for white pearlescent paint.0

They look all white to me..;)
Seriously, white is OK, black is the evil colour to keep clean.0 -
Ive been thinking about black but i keep on swaying towards silver0

White is awful to keep clean same as black. Saying that my van is white and has never been washed since new. It doesn't look that bad considering as long as you exclude the greening roof.Nothing to see here, move along.0

When I used to have company cars they always supplied white ones, I didn't find them any worse than any other light colour for showing the dirt, leave them unwashed long enough and they just look different shades of grey, the downside was that they were Vauxhalls.:D0

A white focus would be a bad idea. I would pay the extra for metallic paint. White works better of sporty cars.
Also, i take it you know the new focus is just around the corner?0 -

Next year I believe in time for the 11 plates. The deal I've been offered looks ok though cheaper than the internet dealers, What Car 'target price' so maybe they are trying to shift stocks prior to launch of new model0 -
For the sake of a few hundred quid get the metallic paint, unless you are buying the ST or RS. Don't listen to all this crap about white being the new black, the trade still likes silver, but still hates white.
I would happily buy a white car myself, but it would be used and I would use the colour as a bargaining point. Unless it was something like a WRX, white in a basic or mid spec is just a bad idea.0 -
We had a black RX-8. Nightmare to keep clean and showed every swirl mark.
As for white. Almost nothing looks anything but cheap in it. Small and sporty/chic can just about get away with it. Anything else is a fashion lead disaster.0
