No. I'm still here, but there's not much going on any longer. I think we've pretty much heard the last of this....unless I receive another letter!

I do think it's crazy that there are three separate CRA's who keep different information. If someone tells me that my rating's no good with Experian, I'll tell them to contact Equifax instead. Not that that's likely to happen anytime soon, I'm pretty much the same as all of you. No debts, no need for credit...
  • Note to all. I think IJ have acted on behalf of MCO Capital. Note the post code on the reverse of your envelope. It is Liverpool the same location as IJ.

When I spoke with Ij today they said the Helploan letter was sent by Helploan, but that they may have put Ij's phone number on as they would pick up the debt. They said they haven't picked up Helploan debts yet, and because of legal investigation, would not be doing so until all legal intervention was over. They then asked me for my invoice ref no so they could check its status in their system. Turns out, the status was as Helploan told me - blocked and subject to a fraud investigation. IJ share all databases and phone numbers with Helploan - to all intents and purposes, they are the same operation. Not the same company, but the same operation. Where does this leave us? Don't know. But considering the terrible financial problems IJ have, perhaps they are not quite the innocent debt collection agency they try to project.

Hi Oldbloke, sorry to tell you this but there are 4 credit rating agencies including the secretive (but not secret - hope you're on-line David, I've ammended my view) National Hunter organisation based in Stoke (but now part of Experian, except the secret database which is off-limits to them). As far as I can see there is no limit to the number of CRA's you can have so you might be checking 1000 several years from now at £2 per shot. What I said earlier about "light at the end of the tunnel" may need revising to "another tunnel at the end of the tunnel" to avoid disappointment. Anyway, anyone got a third letter yet? On another note, sorry Geomacl, I've been calling you Geomad - no offence intended it's just that I'm partially sited and I thought the cl was a d. When I looked really close at the screen I realised my mistake.

Thanks geomacl, I had a horrible feeling that you had noticed but was too polite to say. Had I known you hadn't noticed I wouldn't have brought it up. I think I've done the same thing with 5 or 6 other people on this forum so I'll just stop referring to people by name and get round it that way. Just make generic comments in future - probably. Seem to be using hyphons a lot now - must have gone through that semi-colon phase;maybe. Yes this whole thing does get you a bit mad. Suddenly we're spending time and money trying to defend against something that we haven't done! I do hope that we all get an explanation of the fraud at some stage - although I'm not sure where it will come from.

Just a note to Mike, both my envelopes came from Worthing, so they are being posted from more than one place.
