Car Insurance - What claims must you declare?

Different to my experiences then.
My insurers won't even speak to named drivers, I wouldn't think they would send them the cheque at the end of the day either.
no they wouldnt the cheque would go to the policyholder but its still his daughters accident and not Solvewebs to declare.
2 insurers have now confirmed this to me and both said its a commonly asked question so its obvious its one that causes confusion along the lines0 -
Actually Mikey the insurers at the time of the claim wouldnt even speak to me when they were processing it because I was not involved. They made it very difficult actually because I was forever chasing her to follow up and answer letters and phone calls because I couldnt do anything about it.0

@Stephen - What you confirmed the exact situation above (or near enough) with the insurers?0

Your insurance underwriter has mislead you. Maybe it was a kid who didn't understand etc etc!
The actual question asked is:Have you made any claims or suffered in any losses in the past 5 years? This includes any non-fault claims and/or any incidents you have been involved in, even if you did not claim
The answer should have been "yes"!0 -

But at the end of the day did they repair your car, (or send you the cheque), or did they pay out to her?0 -

The exact question I asked 2 underwriters was
If I am doing a quote for a client who last year had his daughter on the policy and she made a claim, if I am now quoting for just my client as the only driver do I need to declare the claim.
answer no
reason its not your claim its your daughters, if you were adding your daughter yes you would need to declare it as we would ask has she had any claims.0 -

Ask
If I am doing a quote for a client who last year had his daughter on the policy and she made a fault claim on the client's policy with a loss of ncd, if I am now quoting for just my client as the only driver do I need to declare the claim.

Wouldnt matter a claim is a claim all claims have to be notified the question is does solveweb have to declare his daughters claim, wether its fault or non fault is irelavant, if has to declare it then he has to declare it either way.0 -

So we're back o square one then.
The question is specific to this posting.
I think we all agree if she made a claim in her own right it wouldn't need to be declared.
You say it's the daughters claim, so that's what you asked, Kwik Fit say it's the OP's claim, that's still what we're discussing.0
