Mr Weetabix Cruise Deals - Stop or Continue? Your choice

Morning All
I have been posting cruise deals on here now for about 2 weeks and have had over 1000 reads. However a few people have criticised what i am doing saying I am a travel agent or that the deals aren't good and a waste of time. I do this in my own time and I am not a travel agent.

I love cruising and finding deals and thought it would be beneficial to share these deals.

So its upto you.

Do you want me to continue with these deals or stop? If you have read any of these deals please respond. No timewasters please as I want a true response.

I have read your posts but I have no idea if they are good deals or not as I have not looked into it in a great deal of depth.

However, I welcome any posts that help people and I think you should continue. If others think they are not good deals and point this out then that also has helped someone and presumably led them in the right direction.

    Keep them coming,

But you have to expect comment, that comes with using open forums.

There are a lot of people out there that have done as much and probably more research than you so can often add value, especialy for those that may be new to cruising and don't have grip on the sort of pricing that is out there.

I for one have not seen a stonking deal yet, most are run of the mill based on my records of pricing over previous years, also shown by the extensive availablity across multiple agents, so good prices but not outstanding.

The style of posting, the use of one particular agent(early) and the encouragement to use PM is what caused the suspisions of being associated with a TA, those are the hallmarks of vested interest.

You have said you are not, people can make their own minds up.

Based on the list you posted in another thread you don't seem to use a lot of places.

here are a few to add to your collection

Teletext TV cruise pages are still one of the best places to get deals and identify lots of cruise TA,s
7 cruise TXT pages available on line
    http://www.teletextholidays.co.uk/TV/Cruises/Last%20Minute%20Cruise%20Bargains/ITV-CRY_746/TV.aspx

    what about

    cruisekings
    scotlandcruisecenter
    1stforcruising
    carrickselect
    barheadtravel
    cruiseclubuk
    checkin365
saveNsail ( with loads of trading names under the freedom group )

I suggested that, as people have been asking questions both privately and on the forum, you asked the MSE Team. I can't see any issue in you clarifying your position with them - after all, it is them that has the final decision on what should and should not be posted.
    Gone ... or have I?

Your posts have been the only posts recently that have actually been relevant to the sub-forum heading so I would also say continue- though, personally, it's good single-occupancy deals that I need.
  • Yeah it is good to see somebody exploring good deals and posting them rather than people always asking for help in finding a cheap deal

I can't see any problem with carrying on posting any deals you find.

Yes these deals may be readily available if people bothered to hunt them down, but some people prefer someone else to do the donkey work and if you are happy to do it then carry on.

NCL epic studios are Solo rates, not top deals but OK, Keep an eye on the 2011 european cruises there may be something come up

I'd say keep posting but in a single thread. The first post could contain contact details for the travel agents (including the additional ones mentioned above). Then add a new post in the thread for every new deal you find. That way those that are interested can subscribe to the thread and be alerted to new deals rather than trawling through teletext and various websites.
