Iv got a student id card with just my name/ date started/date expired/ college logo name and id number

    Will this do?

If i buy the filet o fish meal ( burger, fried and coke ) I get a free mcflurry.

Or can I just buy the burger on it's own and still get the mcflurry?

Looking at their website you would need to buy the entire meal, not just the burger to get the free McFlurry (and note it's just an original one, not a fancy one). You'd be looking at offer 1, below. (I also checked with the US menu list and a Filet-O-Fish does count as an Extra Value Meal.) Offer 1 doesn't specify it has to be an NUS card, so I think you'd be alright with your college ID.
Offer 1: Free Hamburger, Cheeseburger or McFlurry Original with the purchase of an Extra Value Meal. Present your valid student ID card before ordering to redeem the offer. Served after 10:30am at participating restaurants. Products on sale may be restricted at different times. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. One offer per person, per card, per visit. Valid between 1st September 2011 - 31st August 2012. *Meals include main sandwich, fries or Garden Side Salad and drink. © 2011 McDonald's.

Offer 2: Use your NUS Extra card to receive a free medium fries when you purchase a Big Mac or McChicken Sandwich. Present your valid NUS Extra card before ordering to redeem the offer. Served after 10:30am at participating restaurants. Products on sale may be restricted at different times. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. One offer per person, per card, per visit. Valid between 1st September 2011 - 31st August 2012. © 2011 McDonald's.
  • so if you only have an NUS card because like me you are an OU student does that mean you can only get offer 2?

I'm totally not affiliated with McDonalds at all, so this is just a guess, but I would think you could probably get both offer 1 and offer 2 with your NUS card, since it should be classed as valid student ID. With somewhat ambiguous things like this it might also depend on who's on the till that day and whether they just accept it! Worth a try, eh.

Saying that, the NUS website only specifies offer 2, so maybe offer 1 is only for non-NUS card holders. Then again NUS may also only be advertising offer 2 because it's NUS specific and another reason to lure students into buying their card.

I work there, you only need a valid NUS card for offer 1, you need the NUS Extra card (which you have to pay for) to get offer 2.

Wow this is an old thread! But yeah, Courtney is spot on. You can read all the small print on the McDonalds website here.

Incidentally this isn't a no spend freebie since you have to buy one of the specified products to get anything free. Would be better off in the low spend or student moneysaving forums, but I've no idea how to request it be moved!

I will move it to the low spend board as you say, you have to buy something to get the freebie.

Back when the op was posted there wasnt a low spend board.
