( and even though I wasn't expecting anything as I'm staying in the same (small!!) building, I didn't even get a 'good luck' card from stressy knickers/the team. Next time, I will take my summer pudding, home made smartie cookies and date slices and play elsewhere :p)

I prefer a bit of rustic cottage warmth so I'm going to pop to B+Q after work and see what they have.

Well as it is your home and he contributes er nothing then make it the way you want it.

  • I know Luc. I need to make it just feel more..............relaxing..........I don't know what it is, I've never been able to put my finger on it..........last year when my ex had the house re-decorated after the flood in the roof he asked if I could help him choose bedroom curtains. I chose a couple of pairs and he went for one of them. they weren't cheap (about £80!!) but they are a lovely lined, thick pair with a real cottage-y feel. I am hoping they still sell them as I might get some........everything else in the living room is plain brown/cream with only 2 small cushions with a pattern on. Whenever the time comes to replace my sofas (and it won't be for a few years as they aren't used a whole lot, only later in the evening) I will buy fabric ones. I have 2 brown leather ones and I feel they make the room feel a bit 'cold'. OH has always had leather ones and he convinced me they were right to get. Fabric ones next time though ;)

You bring your cakes for us next time BB - I'm sure we'll appreciate them. I got a sarcastic card from my last workplace organised by my boss who liked to have a dig if he could possibly get a bit of humiliation or a put down in!

Sure you'll enjoy your new full time job.

BB B&Q had some lovely curtains when I went last week...would loved to have popped in but appeal was in furzehill and if certain person was in would have made it interesting!

Awful appeal and quite frankly no chance we will win :( Feeling very dispondant and no idea what I shall do now...considering selling myself to fund private school lol

Have migrain/headache from hell so off to lie down before the children and OH arrive home

Sally - Hope you manage to shift your headache - it's a shame they let you go through the whole appeal process if they can't do anything to help. We'll all keep our fingers crossed that someone leaves and B can have their place.

BB - Good luck in your new job :p I'd have appreciated the cookies! Dunelm mill have some gorgeous curtains (they're online too).

I've spent the afternoon making a tea cosy whilst listening to DH snore...it's life so far on the edge.

Sorry the appeal didn't go well Sal.

BB, sounds exciting, I love planning how I want the house. Problem is I never get round to actually making the changes! I agree about the leather sofa, my parents both have them, they just don't seem as 'welcoming' as a fabric one. Sorry they didn't even get you a card, that's a bit mean.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
