    Hi harleq,

If you are having troubles with the Tiscali service you can report this via the relevant forum

    http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums

and this can be picked up and addressed for you.

In terms of the changeover of packages this is part of the amalgamation of the ex-Tiscali customer base into TalkTalk. All accounts will be migrated to the TalkTalk billing system, at this point you will have to take one of the active plans, either Essentials or Plus for phone and BB or UK Even and Weekend or UK Anytime for phone only packages.

You will be offered the most suited plan to your usage when your account is being migrated.

  • thanks for your help Mark, talktalk have already advised me that i wont be able to take on one of their better packages without changing my phone number, it is very important that i keep my phone number, so i may have to migrate back to BT to keep my number,

Mine went a similar way until I rang to get a MAC code. I then had MUCH improved speeds up to the day I swapped providers. I'm now getting even better speeds with IdNet.:)
  • Not able to acces my emails (tiscali) as of today neither is my friend also who was with tiscali, go online with outlook and it continually asks for password and username and then wont accept it and then on talk talk homepage i get this message

it says my inbox is full all mail barred until I delete some emails I cant get into my inbox as it also says "Could not connect to the specified mail server. Please check your account settings."
So how do I delete emails if I cant get into my inbox confused.gif

so I go to register to post a complaint on the talk talk feedback forum and then to register i have to click the link on my email they send, which of course i cant access...so anyone that can help please????

You're not alone, it seems practically everyone who was on Tiscali (and still is kindof) is experiencing ridiculous speed drops (mine was at 20kb at one stage but is now a consistent 1-1.5mb but used to be around 5mb)

However, this is just coincidence that it's happening to us all, it's all down to our own equipment being faulty and the internal wiring we have, honest, tech support told me.

I feel like I tell my story every day on here but amazingly my internet connection was completely sorted for a short period whilst the tech support operative thought I was plugged into the test socket (I was going to plug in but then found it to be inaccesable at that point and lo and behold when TalkTalk called me back my speed was back up at 5mb and before I got the chance to say "That's funny as i haven't done anything" the operative ended the call.)

Another warning (although ultimately it shouldn't be a problem as they will have to back down but that may take a while) is that recently on various forums a lot of people in our shoes (Tiscali customers who haven't done anything to move over to TalkTalk) are telling stories of calling up to leave and TalkTalk claiming they signed up to a new 18 month contract when their service moved to being run by TalkTalk.

This is the forum for Tiscali customers )since they can't access the talktalk members forums)

Reading through it's just full of people in the same situation and never is any real reason given by the TalkTalk staff (who clearly don't frequent that forum too much) There's clearly something amiss for so many people to all of a sudden have their good service turn into a crap one.

Tiscali/TalkTalk have relentlessly been calling me and yesterday I asked them not to call again. My bill seems to have gone up from £14.99 to £19.99 and I cannot recall receiving any correspondence to this effect. Within a short period of time of asking them not to call me again offering me various packages, I have not been able to use email on both my Mac and my iphone. Does anyone know why this could be??

Strangely mine hasn't. But I've never got above 2mbps.

This is (usually) due to the fact the screens that the CS people use have the date that talktalk took over the tiscali service as the start date of the contract. This is not the case. Its down to bad IT systems and equally bad staff training.
In my case there are notes on the system that say I'm on a rolling 1 month contract.

Unusually this is due to talktalk unlawfully signing people onto new 18 month contract without there knowledge. talktalk are aware of this and have set up a team to look into each and every reported case. Seriously shows how out of hand this practice got.
  • I posted on that TalkTalk Tiscali forum because my internet kept dropping out completely for about 5 minutes at a time, it was doing it throughout the day for about a week. So I posted on there about the problem and they deleted my message! Posted it again, got told my line was fine and the problem was with my equiptment, I posted back and said no it was definitely the internet that was the problem - they said I'd have to have an engineer come poking around my house and I'd have to pay for it if they couldn't find anything wrong. I posted back and said I wasn't paying and they deleted the entire thread again. I gave up, fortunately it sorted itself out... still shocking customer service though. Sadly the only reason I'm still with them is because I can't find a similar package that's just as cheap - all the cheap broadband deals are for slower speeds or tiny download limits. Boo!
