Failed asylum seekers. They get nothing, on the whole....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I agree with you. There are lots of other decent charities who work with homelessness, too, as well as the Sally Army. something similar-ish happened to me - got stopped by a kid about 18 outside a train station at about 9pm babbling about how his dad was ill in hospital in reading (we were outside wandsworth common station in london). went on for about 10 minutes without actually asking for money before i said "what do you want me to do about it". he looked quite taken aback and declared that he wanted me to give him the money for a train ticket to reading. when i suggested that he just get on the train without a ticket (there are no barriers) and take the risk of a penalty fare he got quite cross with me.Had a guy tell me he was starving to death, I was eating a burger so offered it to him to which he looked disgusted :laugh: not so hungry I guess, I been hungry plenty of times and have had 5 pounds for weekly food (weekly everything actually

in my student days i offered a bit of kebab to a tramp who was asking for money for food; he declared himself a vegitarian. in hindsight, who can blame him.Buskers and Big Issue sellers are ok . Average life span of homeless is 44 apparently
the eastern european big issue seller who hangs around outside richmond waitrose can rarely be observed without his blackberry pressed to his ear!!0
