I don't know if this is the right thread but has anyone had experience of claiming bank charges for a limited company account?
I have successfully claimed unfair charges from my personal account, is the process for a ltd. co. account the same? Are there any hidden pitfalls specific to a ltd. co. account?
Thanks in advance.0 -
I'll move your post into the Business accouts thread as the answer is there for you.0

Thanks to your site I won over £1500 from Barclays before Christmas. I am now helping my brother claim money back on his business account (£4,200 to be exact!!). He sent them the letter asking for the money back and threatening court action and then yesterday he got a letter back from his local Business Manaager asking if he needed to explain to my brother the published business tariff ( Does anyone know what this is?) He also asked to meet him to discuss the matter further but he had no authority to fund any of the charges back. What should my brother do:
Ignore the letter and start court proceedings? Meet with the Manager and ask for the money back? Would it go against him if he didn't meet the Business manager? Do banks have the right to stop overdraft facilities at a moments notice or to close accounts?
My brother thinks that he is not entitled to claim because he is a business and should just accept these charges!! Can anyone put his mind at ease.0 -
has an appointment already been made with this manager automatically or is it just an invitation to make an appointment?
sounds like it maybe a standard letter being sent to people in business who are looking to have the bank charges refunded
tell your brother to read the posts on this site over £300,000.00 reclaimed so far should tell him he is entitled0 -

This will be the list of charges that the bank make on a business account just the same as the bank issue lists of personal charges.

It certainly won't do any harm to meet the Business Manager and perhaps your claim has charges in it that won't be claimable and that is what he wants to point out.0 -
Very best of luck Fishpond, you won't really need it just a lot of patience.
Hi Edinburgh, I quite agree with your comments, dialoque is never a bad thing. However I would not agree to anything unless it is put in writing and maybe even take a friend as witness. I know it seems over the top but the banks can be sneaky.
I think things have reached a whole new level with claims on Business Accounts as the amounts are so much higher and I wouldnt put anything past them to try and squirm out of it. This guy says he has no authority to refund charges but I bet he has authority to try to persuad you not to continue with your claim.Rise, like lions after slumber

friend of mine has a business account with RBS and has a loan with them along with a credit card.
Now if he was to claim back his bank charges would they shut his account down? or cancel his overdraft?
would this affect his credit card or loan with them?0 -
Hi, I'm new to the forum so hope this hasn't been asked too many times before.
I have a business account with Barclays, My manager will not give me an overdraft but is happy to pay direct debits at £30 a throw. By paying a direct debit to my personal account to keep it in credit, I racked up an unofficial overdraft of over £1600. mostly in CHARGES. On my personal account there is a maximum limit of 3 ( £30) paid referral fees per month but NOT on a business account.
My main concern is that as they are the same charges ( paid referral fees) as the personal account CAN I CLAIM THEM BACK??????? Please help as I have done the rough maths & My charges run into many thousands.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Only asked twice a day so don't worry about it
I'll shift you into the Business thread in a minute but basically you can claim back the normal returned dds/cheque type charges but not any annual business account charges.0
