I'd love to say it's a proper HM curry, but it isn't - I use curry paste from a jar (usually a rogan josh or madras-type) :o.

If you can get something like that in France (I have no idea if you can or not), then it's just chopped onions and garlic browned together, then add mince (beef or lamb, depending what I've got) and brown, add a blob of curry paste, some stock and simmer for a while (really technical timing, I know!). Then I add some new potatoes (whole ones at the moment as my HG ones are so weeny :)), cook until tender, then add some peas or chopped green beans and cook for a couple of minutes more.

It's quite simple, but really tasty. And I'm hungry now!:o:D

ETA - oops, forgot - I sometimes (but not always) add some chopped tomatoes along with the stock - either from a tin or, particularly at this time of year, fresh ones.
Back after a very long break!
  • Hi, I always look at this thread for my meal ideas so thought I'd join in! Here are my dinners for the week:

saturday – steak, chips, beans, mushrooms
Sunday – gammon, roasts and veg
monday – ham, leek and potato pie, mash, veg
tuesday – sweet and sour chicken and noodles/rice
    wednesday – carbonara
    thursday – sausage casserole
friday – beef stroganoff and rice

If all goes to plan, I only need to buy a leek, carrots, cream, parmesan, mushrooms and fresh stuff like bread and milk.
Katgoddess could you share your carbonara bake recipe please? Mine is quite fiddly, a bake sounds much easier!

Sun 5th Roast chicken and all trimmings
Mon 6th Steak pie, pots, carrots, sweetcorn and green beans

Thurs 9th Fish, HM chips, beans or mushties.
Fri 10th Pasta carbonarra bake with salad
Sat 11th Lamb curry with basmati rice and HM naan bread
Sun 12th Roast again (will buy from butchers next weekend).

Lunches are multi grain sub rolls with left over chicken or ham or cheese, with a HM cake (of some description - must pull my finger out:rotfl:) and fruit.

    Hello

Kids pack-ups this week will consist of sandwich, cocktail sausages, cubes of cheese, grapes or strawberries and a cookie or biscuit (HM) I will take left overs which have been frozen and nuke them at work - possible with a cookie or three and some cheese and grapes. Dinners look something like this at the minute

SAT Chicken in breadcrumbs, garlic potatoes and sweetcorn
SUN HM Mince & Onion pies with chips and beans
    MON Panaculty, Mash and peas
TUE Sweet & Sour Pork with chips or rice
WED Toad in the hole with mash & gravy and veg
THU Fish fingers Chips and beans for some Frittata & Chips for the fish-dodgers
FRI Tea will be provided by Mystery shopping! Pizza for kidse and something nice from M&S for oldies

Need to buy stuff for the packups but everything else in in except potatoes which i'll get more of tomorrow.
