It depends wh oyou buy it from. From CPW, O2 250 tariff, voicemail is free but if you buy it from any other shop its usually chargeable.

I don't believe that for one second. It depends solely on the network provider. In the case of CPW it is more than likely you will be billed through CPW rather than directly from O2. This is why there may be descrepancies in what services they provide and how much they cost.

To be honest I would avoid being billed through CPW like the plague, they are notoriously bad. Search this forum or just google to see how many complaints there are about their billing.

As shafeeq kindly pointed out this link: http://www.o2.co.uk/assets/O2HybridNav/Static-files/PDFs/PAYMTHLYPLANSFINALJULY20.pdf very clearly states which tariffs include free voicemail retrieval.

To put it simply (again) any tariff at or above £35 per month includes FREE voicemail retrieval as stated by O2. So everyone else who keeps saying it doesn't please check your facts first.

True but o2 is o2. I know CPW's billing is different to others but I dont understand why voicemail is free on one o2 250 tariff (my one) and my mates o2 250 tariff brought from mobileshop.com and his voicemail is chargeable. Its o2 who set the charges I thought.

gtz101 from your previous post I am assuming you are with CPW. It isn't as simple as saying O2 is O2. While it is true the network service will be the same CPW actually buy the airtime from O2 and resell it onto you. Therefore it is reasonable to assume that they (CPW) can charge slightly differently to O2. This would certainly explain why you get free voicemail vs. your mate who doesn't.

Please correct me if I'm wrong and you are not billed through CPW.

  • I was going to go for this deal but yesterday a deal came up for the Nokia 6230i on a 12 month free with orange with OSPS so I took it. Funny thing but this morning the deal had already changed to only 11 months free.
Thanks for all your input folks.
