Toilet brushes are horrible things; no sanitary home should have one. Rub off skid marks with a brush and then leave it sat in its own pot? Eurgh.
Most gifts that I've had have been glasses, vases etc or booze. The booze goes down best; goes down well after the stress of moving. Offering to help out is also much appreciated. Alternatively, B&Q vouchers. No matter how little work your new place needs, it's amazing how much money you'll spend at B&Q in the first six months.0 -

I'm curious to know what you clean your toilet with! Also don't people clean, bleach the brush then put it back? Confused! (I'm not being sarky by the way I genuinely would like to know what you use to clean the toilet!)Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0 -

No toilet brush will ever go near my house ever again after watching a Kim and Aggie programme once! Filthy, dirty, disgusting things. Gloves on, bleach down the pan and go!!!Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!!

Omg am I the only person who actually does use a toilet brush? I didn't know there was anything wrong with them! Sorry OP, I'm a bit horrified by this, I don't think I would want to put my hands down the loo though! Even with gloves!Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

I use one of those toilet duck things that you put the disposible pads on the bottom and then they flush away after you've finished. I also hate toilet brushes.
I would give vouchers as a gift. Maybe M&S or John Lewis."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
And do you leave out gloves for your guests to use too?0

I've not had any moving in presents .... and I've never given any.
There's too much gift-giving in the world. Stop it.
Just turn up and poke about their new place, they won't expect anything.0 -

Toilet brush - i agree they are dirty but what can we use?
Usually i avoid dropping off the jackson 5 when i am at someones house, but if they dont have a brush, it is better to put loo paper down the loo first and then deposit which creates no marks.0 -
