The main problem will be that the iPhone is very poor at picking up signal, especially compared to a fairly old Nokia, as for the contract, unfortunately you moved house, Orange didnt move the signal, it's harsh but you won't have any luck cancelling
  • if you cant cancel the contract then look for mobile phone signal repeaters (multiband repeaters or atleast repeaters that cover the orange frequencies). these cost 400 - 4000£ some are portable, some fixed, some come with external fixed antennas and some come with window suction antennas. there are in car versions as well, seems to be popular in the usa. dont know how good they are, loads of videos available online and photos too. see if that is a suitable option for you. or check out UMA option available on orange see if they will give you a UMA capable phone instead and that will piggy back on your home broadband connection instead and you will get billed for calls and data use even if your home broadband is used.

best option might be the signal repeater and place the external antenna where there is a decent signal external to the property and the repeater antenna indoors to get a better indoor signal.

    Ha that old chestnut!!

No sorry, I don't mean to be pessimistic about it but they were telling me they had mast issues for over 8 months with no date for when it would be fixed!!
demand they give you a full rebate of the line rental till the situation is fixed. three network gave me a full 2 months rebate even when i had some problems in some areas but got good reception at home. i didnt ask for the rebate then offered it to me and i was surprised especially the second time when i just wanted the problem fixed and wasnt interested in the rebate.
