re tax credits, i think because its based on last years figure you maybe down this year and more next year IYSWIM.

I know i was on mat leave and my DH lost his job and was on job seekers they reduced our payments!!! the tax year after we were getting £160 a month more... you guessed it when we were both back in work. We updated them at everypoint, and their explanation was that we earned so much less in the prev year..... obviously extra money came in useful to cover the debts we ran up when living off £225 a week when he was out of work :-(

I think if your income is dropping they amend it straight away, i can't believe they didn't increase your payments when you so badly needed it, that's awful.

Haven't been on here much the last few days, trying to spend time outside to make the most of the sun, also didn't have much to say!

DH got paid from new job today and got £500 more than we expected so that was a lovely bonus! :j I have been generous with his monthly spends this month as he has his brothers stag weekend and it's my birthday in 3 weeks ;)

We still have enough to get completely straight this month i think after some CC spending and hopefully add to the £100 OP. DH deserves some extra spends though as he works so hard and I am so tight with his money!

I've done a survey on Toluna this morning and really need to get into it a bit more.

Hope everyone else is well, enjoying the sunshine and making those OP's! :)

Have just sent another OP of just £10 as I was invited out for lunch and didn't go! I know I would have spent at least that. Have just noticed my Sky Bill is now £52 a month  so as soon as the football season is over I will be cancelling the sports and possibly the movie channels again although we did miss them when we cancelled before. While we didn't have the movies we ended up buying DD lots of dvd's anyway. It's just soooo expensive!

Just about to make a payment to clear a CC so that we can make a balance transfer 0% for 12 months and hopefully car would be mostly paid for by then.

I really need to do a SOA based on my maternity pay as although I have worked out what i will be paid i've no idea if it covers everything it should!

I'm 16+2 and felt proper kicks last night, it was the best feeling - sooo exciting :j

    That's brilliant :)

Do you know how much you'll save by cancelling sky movies? If it stops you buying DVD's then lovefilm might be worth looking at

    Hi Cath :D

I pay a similar amount on my sky bill.. Do you already know how much you would save by cancelling Sky Sports while the footy season is not on??

    Thanks

Well we were paying around £40 with just sky sports 1 and without sky movies premiere when one evening we realised a champions league game was on sky sports 2 (which we wanted to watch!) so i think it was about £8 just to add sports 2 back on so thought we might as well have full package again.

From when i reduced bill last time the sales assistant said that lots of people cancel the sports once the football season is over - i've never thought to do this before but definitely will at the end of May when all the games are over!

I think if we cancelled everything basic package is about £24, it may well be worth doing this over the summer, it's not worth just cancelling movies OR sports, makes sense to cancel them both. I did a trial with lovefilm which i cancelled so i do get offers from time to time so will definitely consider it. DH works better hours now so be easier to watch more films.
