I really thought we would get more money Cath. I'm still hoping they are wrong when I phone them next Friday to tell them its my last day on mat leave. I'll let you know.

Maybe they can decide for sure nearer the time? I don't believe all the hype about the growth charts. Personally I think they are a load of twaddle but a scan would show the weight of the baby. They don't necessarily increase in weight but I can see where they are coming from worrying.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore
  • My OH had a HB and although it wasn't planned and it also wasn't advised (due to baby size and she had pollyhydramnia (spelling?)), she thought it was a great experience. Having two MW was also very reassuringe and I am sure next time we will opt for a HB again.

Being really against HB with DD1 I was bordering phobic about giving birth, with DD2 and her complications there was no way they/or I would have wanted one.

However IF there is a next time I was told I'd have to go for a HB cos having DD2 on route to the labour ward and spending 30 minutes trying not to have her in the back of the car was horrendous.

I always thought they couldn't deny the request for a home birth they could just recommend against it.

LP thinking of number 4 already... your keen..

I could try help with tax credits if you want.. I am very familiar with the system.

I didn't really measure big for dates with DD, maybe slightly over but I was literally all baby, my bump was solid.I think they will review the HB situation at 36 weeks but they have recommended against it and after i googled shoulder distocia yesterday i'm not too sure either! I'm hoping the midwife will ring me back today as she didn't yesterday and i had a letter to say my bood glucose was high when it is actually usually too low so i'm a bit concerned about that.

I was determined to relax and enjoy this pregnancy as we won't be having anymore - 2 will be plenty for us and now i feel like i just get stressed out all the time!

Thanks Lilac, i remember you giving good advice in the past. I'm wondering if as well as changing the brackets for entitlement they have also reduced the amounts people are getting even though they still qualify. I have spoken to them in the past about taking DH private pension contributions off his wage but they kind of ignored me! If we have gone into the next bracket it might be worth upping his pension contributions to take us down a bracket iykwim.

Sold another DVD boxset on Amazon so that should be another £10 coming my way! I love Amazon, you just list things and forget about them until you get an email to say it has sold - so easy!

I never understand the tax credit system, how can your household income go down that much and you dont receive any help back. What do we pay our taxes for? Its so stupid!

Well done on amazon sales hun, sounds easy :)

Exactly, TC are due 26/4 so I am hoping to get more than the £42 they said i will get. We will see! I know it's bonus money but i think us tax payers deserve a little help now and again.

Yay for Amazon sales. I think I need to bung some more stuff on Amazon, much easier than Ebay

Definitely easier and i don't have the obsessive checking my listing tendencies when things are on Amazon! It's much better that you know how much you will receive and not be hit by extra fees.
