Cath hope the stresses are minimised and you start to feel better, hopefully the long weekend will help. Can I ask you a question about your additional borrowing? I think from memory you are with FD and you mentioned they were very detailed in your contingency and where it was coming from? What % of the build did they expect you to have - can you remember ? I'll be making the call in the next couple of months and just want to understand expectations beforehand. TIA.

Hi PF, how are the extension plans coming along? I think it was around 10% and that really was the part they grilled us most on. We didn't actually need any contingency but I can see why they would like you to have some funds in place.

Don't you be getting any ideas :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Food spends now £173.69 with some more expected today but nothing extravagant.

Eek, Cath. Can you get some time this weekend to relax? Or just sleep and try to recharge the batteries a little?

Hi Michelle, I'll try and get a fairly early night tonight especially as we are off to @lton towers tomorrow. Should be able to get the children to bed a little earlier tonight too as they have been at a football tournament all morning. I had to go on a rescue mission for ds who was very wet and cold. Other than that I haven't left the house all day but still managed to do over 16k steps and a weights workout. Just need another 1500 steps to reach my 105k weekly target.

Dh did the food shop for snacks for tomorrow and some veg for the roast I made this afternoon. Total spends now £189.10, will we come in under £200 for the month?

Have also browsed revised fixed rate deal today following the rate rise and I think we would be better off fixing at 2.34% for 5 years. We would be at around £36k at the end of that fix with around 5 years left to run. Hopefully with overpayments we could really reduce that figure and then possibly go for a tracker if base rate still reasonable.

Had the fake log burner on all day and it looks fantastic. Definitely worth the investment as the family room has looked very cosy and warm. Weather for our holiday is looking great which is adding to the exciting of going. Packing didn't get done today but it doesn't take that long so am not going to stress out about it. Will get it done this week or by next weekend at the latest.

Right, going to hoover the lounge, light some candles and relax with a family film and then another film for dh and me. As long as I stay awake I will get to enjoy it!

Cath thanks for the info. I was working on 10% so that's ok. We've had planning approved :T:T finally it seemed the whole council has been off for the last 8 weeks :rotfl: not helped by them saying their 'portal' would be updated with info, but hasnt since May :rotfl: anyway, we're there now so it's all in the past. Just need to secure the last of the funding and fix a date for the build :eek:

Hope you've managed some r&r. As ever in awe of your food spends.

    Hi zcrat,
Had a lovely evening watching a film with the children before bed. Am hoping things like that really top up the memory bank.

Fingers crossed the rest of the process goes smoothly for you Pf and good to
Hear you have the contingency in place. We had no costly disasters thankfully.

Made an £11.50 overpayment earlier which is from the reduced gas and electric direct debit. I expect this to go back up at some point so we won't be out of pocket, just less to overpay.

Done a few more y0ugov surveys and got my 100 bonus points. Seem to be getting quite a lot on there at the moment.

Realised dh was charged full price for a half price item in @ldi, too inconvenient to return as want to eat it tomoro. U less I send him in with empty pack and receipt next time he goes? For st help they don't have a customer service desk and the tills are always busy.

My mum was going to throw away an item earlier, I saved it from the bin, suggested the charity shop and then she told me they were expensive. I advertised them on bookface for £10 and they are being collected tomorrow. Think I have a lot of work to do to win her over to my frugal ways!

Managed to sand down and paint the filled in bits in the lounge today and it actually looks rather professional, or I am currently assessing it in good lighting!

Exhausting but fab day at @lton towers today. I am not a fan of scary rides but took the children to the younger area and they had loads of fun. I did go on a 'family' rollercoaster and was terrified the first time it went round. I just don't like them and that is not going to change! £102 spent on admission and parking (that was with both us adults getting in for free!), took a picnic, dh bought some ice-creams with his money but no other spends and I even found £1!

Leftovers for a quick meal when we got home. Have some money shuffling to do tomorrow to cover credit card spends.

Over 22k steps done today so am ahead of myself for the week so can have a quieter day st some point. F1tbit definitely on its way out, taken it off to charge and the strap feels like it's going to fall off. I've only had them second hand so will have to research new ones pronto. Dh gets paid in 2 days so can send another mortgage overpayment and have a reshuffle of the accounts.

Hoping for a cheap week now but am sure dh is planning a day out with the children on Friday. I'm trying to convince him it really isn't necessary!

Well we've exceeded the £200 food budget and spends now stand at £201.04 as I splashed out on a frozen meal deal, raspberries and a 29p pineapple. Also made a 53p tilly tidy (good to have the account in a position to be able to do this).

dh should be able to access his payslip tomorrow so I can then re-evaluate the budget and send the rest of the mortgage overpayment before the standard payment goes out on the 1st. Once I know what our fixed rate will be and what payrises dh and me are getting I will play with the spreadsheet to see how much difference £xxx makes each month.

Made a start on the holiday packing, checked in online (didn't pay to sit together, but they have of course sat us together, easy money saved), will pint boarding passes tomorrow.
Macros hit, have done 12,300 steps but did above and beyond yesterday and only need to average for the week. Hoping for another 1lb loss this week and minimal holiday gain next week. Am already planning to walk for an hour each morning so hoping that activity plus getting involved with some of the pool acivities will offset it. I plan to enjoy myself but they do have m@gnum ice creams on the all inclusive which are very hard to resist.
