  • Ah bless your DH. Nice of him to try and do his best to support you. I hope the DRs are more useful at sorting you out with your throat. Rest, and lots of liquids for you.

Thanks both, this virus is super bad timing! Doctor said I have an upper respiratory tract infection and laryngitis and told me to stay off till Monday. If i'm not better I have to go back.
Re: swine flu jab he said you can have it now at any gestation so when i am better to get it. My manager was wonderful with me when I rang which although gratefully received I am now suspicious!
I am going to try and sort out a basket of washing and not much else today.

Aw thanks Smlsave. Not usually, perhaps she believes I'm ill though and that makes the difference. It's usually financial reasons it's dealt with dreadfully as my shifts still have to be covered which ultimately costs. I don't know how people's consciences allow them to chuck 'sickies', i feel awful about it and am too unwell to work and was when I dragged myself in over the weekend!

DH just got home and is settling DD to bed and then is going to cook. I have managed to eat soup and a sandwich so far today!

I think for a minute I am on the mend and then get up and do something, have a coughing fit and exhaust myself!

Thank you mummalove, the news has lost its excitement a little as I have been so poorly last few days, temp was 38.8 at one point and i felt dreadful.
Went to docs tuesday and he diagnosed an upper respiratory tract infection and laryngitis so I got a self certificate, my chest was clear at this time. I made an appointment to go back friday as I felt awful and couldn't keep temp down even with regular paracetamol and low and behold I now also have a lower respiratory tract infection (chest infection) and am on antibiotics for a week. I have barely eaten but am sure baby will be ok as although I am not big I do have a reserve! :rotfl:

Appetite has come back a little today though which is good.

I'm a bit annoyed about receiving a water bill this morning, i paid last months and measured our meter which was less than the estimated assuming I would get a smaller bill in the next quarter. Got a bill for £55 though! Can't really work it out and need to dog out my old bill but don't think they've accounted for the fact i paid the last bill and not taken it off my account. Hopefully sort that out later.

Still on track for £450 OP in Feb :j
Part of me wonders whether to ease up on OP's and save for the baby but in reality there isn't a lot we need. DD can go in a single bed by the time baby needs the cot and we have everything else, just no boy clothes if that was the case! As far as I am aware my maternity pay isn't too bad too. I may take 9 months off or let DH take the last 3 months but he is possibly changing jobs so I am not sure if he will have enough weeks in with new employer to qualify for that.

I just want to get back to being 100% so we can get excited and make plans.

Thank you, i need to recover before the dreaded pregnancy tiredness kicks in. I remember last time DH and I had tickets to see a famous band locally and we ended up selling them on as I was too exhausted. When you're not tired you can't rationalise how you did feel that tired!

Been bright enough to do a few surveys today and check accounts which should be ok till payday. Am looking forward to updating my SS this month - is anyone else????

Sundays are definitely a survey day for me too!

Our salaries are paid 15th and 25th so I organise my monthly budgets to run from the 15th to the 15th, so a couple more weeks to see through for me. All my d/d's have left our bank account now (apart from the tv licence due 1st) so its just a case of being careful with groceries and petrol between now and the 15th.

Have you begun thinking of any names for yr baby yet? Will you be finding out the baby's sex? Exciting times ahead ;)
