Thought you would be up and running NG? I stalled making sure we had 2 direct debits and just when I thought it was sorted,we lost one as the new car came with 12 months road tax!

Food and petrol spends for September are

    Petrol £154.02
    Food £180.12
    Total. £334.14

Am pleased with this as we budget £500!

I though extension was starting next Weds then builder text to say couldn't start until following Monday however.. The roof is being done THIS Monday! Windows were fitted today but we have had some issues with that we need to report back to company. Arrived 3.5 hours late and dh had taken unpaid time off work. This meant only half the work was done. They've also discarded cigarette stumps on and around our drive. I'll be feeding this back to the company tomorrow as its not acceptable....is it?

The wine will be opened shortly!

  • One thing I have promised myself is that I will read more books now, I'm a bookworm and love them but lack of time and all that...

great news on the roof, but grrrr to the workmen!

I'm just starting to make time now dfod. Thanks MFD, will keep an eye out for those, love a book recommendation.

I was hoping today would be extremely productive but challenging children and another nap means we didn't get as much done as I hoped.

Food shop done and planning to make souls now the weather has turned.
Swimming lesson done, this is almost 2 hours out of the day.
Measured up and priced up flooring for downstairs alterations £200
    Finished my book
Gave the children lots of cuddles!
Had a nap. Woke up to ds shouting 'mum, mum, mum' as he wanted to show me something!
Printed off tickets for our day out tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be hectic as need to catch up on washing as its rained ALL day today, have a day out, get new shoes for dd, wrap presents for D's and prepare for the working week!

In mfw style I resisted putting the heating on, everyone else felt fine so I used the fluffy socks and cardigan trick for me!

Great thinking, Cath! I've got my fleecy blanket on the go here :D
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library

It's like a mini challenge now PM, how much longer can we survive without CH. Its only me that feels the cold in this house so I may just dress oddly to save money!

Its worth following through NG, great customer service and communication. Online system really easy to use. Definitely worth it and the initial £100 comes a month after account switchover so be here in time for Christmas :)

Food shop done yesterday so a lot spent for this stage of the month.

Fell asleep at 9pm last night which was annoying for a Saturday and that was after a late afternoon nap.

    October spends

    Food. £44.62
    Petrol £30.01

I'm making a mini challenge this winter to snooze more on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Not sure what Mrs SJ or the 3 kids will make of it, but i love a snooze and with lots of snoozey type sport on (football, rugby union) it seems a waste to miss the opportunities!

Yay to the building, boo to the upcoming dust!

I've purchased some yummy slippers from Priiimmmarrk today for £4. So warm and fluffy. Really pretty too. Feet currently overheating! I'm hoping to get to the 1st November.
