Does anyone have experience of upgrading from Blue to Platinum? Is there a minimum salary level for this card?
In particular, I wonder what would happen to accrued cashback, would it be lost if I upgraded, or carried onto the new card?
C.Free is my favourite price!0 -
Oh well. After all that, they've rejected my application :-/ Their letter said I don't meet their scoring requirements. I'd like to appeal but the guy on the phone the other day intimated that I'd be wasting my time.0

Mrtickle...i was also turned down, so i called them up, to ask why...they said it was their internal scoring system. When i questioned them further, the Amex person said she'd resubmit my application. After a week, i received the same 'sorry, but your application has been unsucessful'..... but, most surprisingly, 3 days later, an amex card arrived in my letter box and i'm now using it as much as i can, to get my 2%!0

Hi Caileag,
I was invited to upgrade so i do not know minimum salary requirements but I can tell you you cannot transfer your cash back from the Blue. I was told to wait until my Blue account had been credited before sending the application form off for the platinum.0 -
I applied for a Platinum card online - I already had a gold card (taking full advantage of the 4.9% life of balance transfer offer!) & was given one - lucky me!
My question is: does anybody know if I can swap some of my gold credit limit (lots of it unused) onto my platinum one (limit only £700)? I asked AMEX on the phone the other day to do this but the drongo on the other end of the phone said I couldn't do that - I find that ridiculous as surely I'm the same risk whichever card I borrow on!?
I've now written to them to ask the same; perhaps that'll get me a result.
Anyone have experience of anything similar?0 -
Not tried with Amex as I have only one card.
I have tried and failed with The RBS.
Tried to trf cr limit from RBS Advanta (now Mint) and Tesco card to RBS Classic. They refused.
However, Co-op bank, Citibank, MBNA are more than happy to trf over cr limit from one card to another (provided you agree to close one of the a/c - that was in my case - may be different for others)
Let us know if you succeed.Regards

Thanks, will do - the person on the phone also suggested I would need to first clear my balance on the older gold card (no chance as using life of bal tfr rate!) before they could alter things around. Curious.
FWIW Cahoot are happy to swap credit limits up to your total allowed around any of their different products at the drop of a hat!0 -
Half-Asleep
Just a thought- Can you not BT to cahoot from amex gold. Then trf cr limit from amex gold to platinum. Then bt from cahoot?Regards

Lucky youCan you remember what you said to get them to resubmit the application? I was told quite firmly that I can't apply again for 6 months. The letter says I can only appeal if I can provide new information
Thanks in advance0 -
Confirmation please.
So if I can get my hands on the platignum card that is the one with the best cashback.
Providing I pay the balance off every month.
Many Thanks0
