Can anyone help with giving me a name or number for someone senior at Orange!!
I've been with then since they launched in the UK around 1995....by mobile phone customer terms that makes me uber-loyal....I should get a gold watch from them.
My contract is due for renewal in a few weeks....so I'm trying to upgrade to a Blackberry 9700 bold.
Whatever tariff I move to, that phone will cost me £149.99.....if I walk into a shop or use their website as a new customer I get it for free on a £25 a month contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The poor call centre staff are being very apologetic but their hands are genuinely tied by their systems....
Orange used to match tariffs by other providers and genuinely give a monkeys about their customers, but not now.
Anyone else had this issue, and what's the advice....should I finally leave them?
Also, any got any experience of Vodafone and their service that guarantees mobile phone signals at home...I live in the sticks and need to get a provider than lets me get a signal at home.
*sigh*.....mobile schmobile

Loyalty means virtually nothing nowadays, so don't rely on this getting you the best deal.
Call up their disconnections team and ask for your PAC. Only then will you get offered their 'best' deal.0 -
Theres very little in the way of loyalty discounts now. With higher mobile costs and tariffs better than they have ever been theres very little profit so not much space to negotiate. They have to offer better deals to new customers to attract them from other networks.
Have you been through the process of trying to cancel, they often have more room to get prices down to get you what you want.
Also have a look at upgrading through a 3rd party, CPW, P4U, dialaphone, buymobilephones etc etc they often have better deals than going direct with the networks
Theres nothing stopping you geting a new contract at the better rates, porting your number out then back again.0 -
Why not wait until the end of the contract, you'll get a better deal, also be aware that the 9700 is due to be replaced soon, so I'd maybe wait for the new one to launch0

as mentioned loyalty means nothing, there not bothered if you been with them for one year or ten years.
Which every way they make the most money, they will do. Its the same for the network providers.0 -
no donot take any pac code ask for other phones and give comparison and stress them for the amount u paid them...since these years0

If you are keen on the phone and want to stay on Orange, request a PAC, take your number to another network on a free PAYG sim card (T-Mobile etc - if you don't have one, can generally request online as nearly always offers on or pay max £1 from a shop). When your number arrives (now two working days), request a PAC again saying that you have changed your mind (on PAYG no minimum term) and get a new contract with this very phone, on this network, taking advantange of the new free phone/new better deal/cashback from Quidco/TCB etc, all solved in a week.
If you are happy and confident claiming cashback from retailers, offers at the moment include 13 months half price on 24 month contracts (OSPS), 8 months half price on 18 month contract (Dialaphone), etc

Orange has the most appalling customer 'service' I have ever known. Their call centres are based abroad and last time I had an issue they cut me off no less than NINE times. I would never recommend Orange in a million years.0

LEAVE ORANGE WHILE YOU CAN! If your contract is up go elsewhere. They spend millions and millions on fancy adds and promotions and when it comes down to customer service for they couldn't give a dam. In August I received a data romaing charge bill for TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS which turned out to only be under £50 .... No apology no compensation and they only took an interest when I threatened them with asking the press to get me some answers. I asked them to cancel all my family Orange accounts and they told me I would be held in breach of contract! I billed them £900 for the time it took me to prove it was not my liability and surprise surprise when the boots on the other foot there not interested. I hope that as many people as possible take my story as a warning and go to another provider. " Orange is committed to customer care" don't make me laugh!0
