I love liver and have eaten it since childhood - love it with onions and jersey royal potatoes smothered in butter

I love lambs liver with onion gravy and mash and I also love calves liver, dipped in seasoned flour and very quickly fried but calves liver is quite expensive so it's an occasional treat.

I hope none of the celeb chefs makes a big thing about liver, whenever they've featured a cheap cut the prices have shot up.

I'm one of those strange people who actually likes liver - love lambs liver with mash, bacon and gravy. Unfortunately I don't actually know how to cook it or make the gravy so if anyone could post a simple recipe on here I would really appreciate it!

Chicken liver pate is good too and not too expensive to make.

Very fortunately I prefer ox liver to lambs' liver although I cannot stand pigs. Chicken livers are also very tasty and cheap.

If you don't like liver but want to try it I'd say try a liver pat! as this doesn't have the texture which some people find off putting.

I used to eat the odd piece of kidney preferable in a steak & kidney pie. Then I tried liver & bacon and surprised myself by liking it (that was in my 20's) now I'll try most things before writing them off (unlike when I was child / teenager). Will say I put all offal into the 'instantly don't like' catagory when a child so kidneys & liver where the same to me.

I prefer my liver & bacon quickly fried in gravy without any onions, but I sometimes do it as a casserole with veggies.

I can feel my stomach churning just at the thought of it.

Lamb or Calves (if you are feeling rich) Liver lightly cooked in butter to which has been added a half a garlic bulb (sliced through the cloves) a bunch of herbs (parsley, thyme & bay leaf) with a big squeeze of lemon juice just before the end of cooking. Fast food and a perfect summer liver recipe. Serve with noodles or new potatoes. nyam2.gif

    Can't stand liver.

Love liver pate and liver sausage though, so I'm guessing it's the texture of it which puts me off.
