I've been quite bad at bringing lunch lately since I started my new job - bit more spare money and Boots meal deals far too close at hand! It does all add up though and I need to chuck a bit more at my debt for the next few months. On a healthy eating kick too so this makes it easier to keep track of what I'm eating.

At work 20 days this month so will try for 15/20 :)

Today I've had mixed bean salad with peppers and a tin of tuna.

Today was going to be my treat day because I managed all of Aug but I though I'd save it for when I'm less motivated so I had a nice sub roll with cheese, chicken and salad. Please could you put me down for only one bought lunch for September. Thanks V much!

Going for the full 22 days. Leaving purse at home (except £5 emergency in the car ashtray) so won't be tempted at all. Good luck all.

    Ok I found you!

I've just counted 16 days at work (I'm part-time and bank holiday here at the end of Sept :jyipee!:j)

So anyway I'm going for 15/16 packed lunches

    - I think there might be a lunch out for someone leaving so I'll join in that one.

Good start today with bagel and cream cheese and biccies that someone brought in:T

Flaming eck boyfrind made me lunch so i've got (slightly dodgy) looking sandwiches for lunch today and as I'd sorted out quiche and salad for lunch i'll have that tomorrow.

  • Can I please be put down for 2 bought lunches out of 22? I used to go for a pub lunch every Friday with my colleagues, but they all got made redundant :( I doubt I'll even use the 2 bought lunches, but it's nice to have leeway for a wee treat or two!

Me and my colleague do a "soup swap" once a week, which is great for having a bit of variety! When I make big pots of soup, I usually go for the freezer friendly ones so I can freeze in handy portions for bringing into work!

It's the best way to keep an eye on your weight too - although we have a vending machine in our office (it's sooooo evil), I bring in Aldi's "Harvest Morn" fruit & grain bars (6 for 99p) to snack on, as well as Aldi's "Savour Bake Oat Nibbles" (99p for 5 packets).

When I get into work in the morning, I have 2 slices of toast, a glass of apple juice and a peppermint tea. I get all of these ingredients very cheaply from the supermarkets and bring into work; the canteen in our building is extortionate!!!

  • I'm throwing my hat in the ring and declaring 20 lunches brought in out of a possible 22.
I'm on hols next week (mon-fri) :D so will aim for three of those days being home made and not out for lunch as we are self catering.
I've already started this month and had HM saus casserole (leftovers with added pasta) yesterday and today I have left over pasta bolognaise, so thats 2 down 18 to go :T

Ooh sign me up please - this is "skint September" for me and lunches are def one of the things that has a make or break feel about it!

Yesterday and today I have brought in lunches from home so no money spent, and I am hoping to do this for the majority of the month, so please sign me up for 16, which basically allows me to buy something once a week as a treat :D
