VW Polo Blue Motion? Really fuel efficient?

He'd be better off buying a nearly new/pre-reg Focus 1.6 Diesel than the Polo Bluemotion. The Bluemotion won't be the most comfortable car for 30k each year. The man without a signature.0

What price do they average at? As he's happy to pay the extra for the Blue Motion as it saves so dramatically on the fuel costs (according to VW marketing
) Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I'd think about the Golf Bluemotion or something similar - a Polo with 100k+ on the clock will be worth very, very little. A Golf or Passat will be more desirable.0

30K per year for three years would by 90K
Heres a two year old one with 80K

I'd say a three year old one with 90K would be worth maybe 5K.
Its probably something that it would make sense to buy new, maintain well, and drive it indefinitely.0 -

Is this the display on the dash or your calculated MPG based on brim to brim filling. The displays can be inaccurate.I'd a Passat bluemotion 2 with a published combined of 57mpg. Over the course of a tank full that was the minimum i would get. Best was 65mpg (over 1000 miles on a 70 litre tank) and best single run was to work one day (23 miles A roads / motorway) of 90.1mpg.0 -

The 1000 miles to the tank was based on brim to brim filling @ 63.3mpg. The dash was reading 65.1, suggesting about a 4% inaccuracy.
Either way, its an easy 15-20% more economical than a 'regular' diesel passat - not bad for a car that cost me less than the regulary diesel to buy. :beer:0 -
our 3 year old VW Jetta does 63 mpg, on the motorway and 46 around town, its a diesel, a golf with a boot so a big car, if I was doing 30K a year I know which one I would go for
