Hi Pippa, just popped over the fence and read through your thread. Welcome to the club. As Sessie says though I end up reading everybody elses and then cant find enough time to update. I look forward to your journey and have subscribed.
Love the sound of your dogs too. What a mix the puppy is, sounds like a happy house to be in. My theory is, anybody who likes dogs is alright in my book.
I am intrigued as to which quote set you on the route of the diary though. I love quotes and I am always looking for inspiration in poems, books and quotes. So if you are ever stuck for an appropriate quote let me know and I am sure I can find one.

Ahhh Govt funding deadlines. Bain of my life for my whole working life. Always want everything yesterday. Your work sounds intriguing. Must be good to be able to work for yourself, whilst at the same time quite a burden of responsibility. Is the work anything that you could contract out?

No wonder you get stressed. I started to do my D units for NVQ and I loved it, then I got promoted and was persuaded to change over to the management NVQ which I did. Hated doing it as I had only just been promoted and was learning on my feet with no training so found doing the NVQ as well quite hard going and ended up not finishing it.Especially as I had no support from my new Manager at the time. I used to do my D unit work with the Princes Trust teams and I loved working with them. When you see somebody suddenly get "it" is a very rewarding moment. I completely understand why you love it. One of my regrets was not going back to the D units at the time.
I am currently working in a PR role which is really interesting but I just want to have a bit of a quieter life and stop all of the travelling that I am doing at the moment.

Sounds like you are quite passionate about what you do. It also sounds like you need a bit of a rest and recuperation. I like the idea of travelling with work but recently it is all that I have been doing and anywhere I go is a minimum 2 hour drive. When you do that 3 times a week but still need to fit in a full weeks paperwork as well it all gets a bit much. I would love to be my own boss and do the travelling occasionally. Need to put my thinking hat on about how to make it happen.

Hi mexico sounds nice and i hope you find a cheapie deal .... work is good as long as it keeps you happy and thats the main thing .. it seems a few more jobs are going this week similar to my brothers trade it does make me worry because i was hoping all that had stopped and given it a rest ..... it seems we may have a few months of further turmoil hope none of my friends loose work .... eeeek .... xx cuppa tea and choc as i read and update xx
