According to their website

There maybe some new dvd codes, which need a upgrade cartridge, so it might be worth contacting them vi the online form, etc to see if you can get a code.
It might be worth checking as well if you DVD player is a generic type and if you could find the same looking dvd player but with a different badge on it and try that code?2012 Target...

I couldn't get ours to work on the DVD player no matter what code I used so we use it through the PS2. My 2yo loves it and has played with it every day and normally he won't sit still long enough to play with toys like this!
It does seem to stick every now and then and I'm not impressed with the Balamory game but he loves the Thomas and Tweenies ones. Great toy for the price IMO.:smileyhea0 -
For the money, I don't think we would find a better present for our 2 year old thomas mad son. I have to say, the Thomas game has even got me hooked, struggling to complete it though2012 Target...

If anyone is struggling due to no setup disc, then try the following.
Turn your DVD player on with no DVD in the drawer. Turn on the Bubble console with no cartridge/games book attached and press 'setup' - it's the button on the centre pad (top right). Now find you DVD player's code from the list either in the manual or from the website, enter it and then press the white star whilst watching the screen. If you get any sort of a response then this may be the right code, so carry out the following. Press the red circle, then the yellow rectangle, then the green square, and finally the purple triangle; each should light and give a tone. Once done then press number '1' on the pad (top left) and wait; the console will turn off after about 15-20 seconds. Now put any DVD in your player (not a Bubble DVD), and see if you can operate your player using the controls on the pad, which if you look at them have the same functions as your remote - ie. play, stop, step, pause, menu .. etc. If so you've cracked it, and you can put a Bubble DVD in, turn your console off and put a cartridge and games book in, and you're away.
If you get no response from the code then merely put the next code in, or if you get no response from the player controls start from scratch with the next code.
Worked for me, if you have any questions re my method above feel free to ask as although it makes sense to me, that does'nt mean it's clear to everyone.

Help!!!! Im just trying to set up the Bubble but cant get any codes to work. I've got a Goodmans DVD2100B and none of the codes work. Is there another way round it, my daughter keeps wanting to play it. There is only one new code added on the bubble website and that doesnt work either. Thanks0

We are having the same problems - even though I managed to get a code to work from the list it keeps going off on a tangent and going back to main screen ect. If anyone who has this working perfectly could say which DVD player they are using I would appreciate it so I could locate one. Other than that its off In the bin shortly as I only have so much patience.
It really is down to the machine you use to play it seems.Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.0 -

We bought two of these Bubbles - one for ourselves and one for my sister(s daughter!) - ours works no bother with our DVD player - but it is a fairly old model. They've just bought a new Philips DVDR3305 and none of the codes work. Some of them get "almost there" but not enough. I had a look at the bubble website, but the codes there are the same as the book, so I've sent a message through their technical support contact page - it does say on the codes page:Further help: Some new codes require the use of a special upgrade cartridge. If you continue to have problems, and/or wish to obtain an update cartridge, please contact technical and product support .
Hope that helps - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get a satisfactory reply. Regardless, the console in "play away" mode is still quite good - bit like a first leappad.0
