hun, I didn't find it offensive at all!It was a good question, as I might have said he does x, y and z, and makes it all mushy, and someone, including yourself might have had a good idea on how to improve it or given me a great receipe.
It's just the way he cooks. He thinks he is masterchef and he certainly isn't! But I am not going to let him know that, he rarely cooks, so when he gets the urge, I leave him to it.
I made banana bread in my breadmaker, am now thinking whether I should just sell it and make bread the conventional way. You can't make bread rolls in it, so I will have to use the oven.
Anyhow, he said urgh that's horrible, I said no it's not, DS is eating it and I am. He said no, I don't like bananas, but I am eating your banana bread, that's horrible! The fact I am eating it because I am enjoying it!
My friend came round and was impressed I had made it and she had some, she said it was lovely.0 -

my Ds makes me buy grapes for him regularly and he only eats a few! tried getting smallest bunch from greengrocers as they are cheaper but even they are too much. I am back to work next week, so will take them as a snack.
Yes, I think with your DH needing so much food, working on a farm is blooming hard work! You will need to bulk it out, but the good thing is putting extra bits in like onions and mushrooms, and having HM bread on the side, should fill all sides of his stomach.0 -
Hey bramble1, glad you are feeling positive about stuff. Meal plan looks great. You can thicken a jar of pasta sauce by simmering it down with some tomato puree thrown in. Good luck xxx
Skint but happy with my lovely family

Blokes ey?
Glad I didn't offend you.
I use my breadmaker on the dough setting and then portion it into whatever shapes I fancy and freeze them individually (or at least separated by greaseproof etc. 20 mins from frozen and they come out really nice. Yummy smell too!Sometimes, I can't see the wood for the trees - or the couscous for the quinoa... 3 no spends so far for August 2011!0 -
the biggest problem i have when i bake bread is OH thinks he needs to 'test' half the loaf to make sure it's okay and i never manage to make any sarnies from them!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

ooh thanks for idea! could make fun shapes for DS for bread rolls and if I freeze, can cook as I need them.
DH complains about bread I buy and it ain't cheap stuff either! Says it is too thin, I buy thick and too crumbly.
So bought breadmaker to try and make own bread but was using Sainsbury's cheap yeast and it was coming out tasting too yeasty and he didn't like it. Now bought better quality yeast and will try again.
He did like the cibatta bread I made though....0 -
Testing is important. With lashings of butter. Cheese. Pint of cider. Pork Pie.......
Have a good day all. Time to finish lunch in rainy Stourbridge and get ready for James Bond with a glass (or two) of white wine.....Sometimes, I can't see the wood for the trees - or the couscous for the quinoa... 3 no spends so far for August 2011!0 -
