Part of every driver's insurance premium goes towards a government fund that pays out to victims of uninsured motorists.

Doesn't that make it his business?

I saw that on the news recently, I believe it adds around 50.00 per policy to every insured driver in this country, but it clearly isn't any of our business, we just have to pay for it with excessive insurance prices

To the people who say mind you own business, I wonder if you would have the same attitude if you were hit by an uninsured driver? Probably be a different attitude then. Or are the people who say mind your own business actually driving without insurance?? Makes you wonder!

Yes, if you're "minding your own business" then literally you're looking to keep an eye on your own business/finances and therefore keep costs down, and reporting uninsured drivers means we'll all pay a few quid less.

So mind your own business, and mind a bit of mine while you're at it.

    Thank You!:D

Give me their name, address or registration number and i'll report the selfish, ignorant little bast.... who thinks they have a right to force me to pay for them to drive on the road.

OP, you are paying more road tax to cover the fact that they are not paying any. How does that make you feel?
You are paying more insurance to cover the fact that they are not paying any. How does that make you feel?

If the answer to either of those two questions is 'pretty crap' or 'annoyed' or anything like that then shop the selfish twit or go and launch a big brick through their windscreen

I'd report them in an instant & be able to sleep at night quite easily :)

Pretty naive IMO... if every man & his dog paid road tax do you really think the amount you pay would drop? Not a chance!

Along the same lines, if every non-insured driver was removed overnight would your premium magically drop by £50? I don't think so!

Road tax is just another stick to beat the motorist with & I wouldn't give a stuff if I knew all my neighbours hadn't paid it, in fact I'd probably join them!

Insurance, MOT a totally different matter.....
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!

The figure changes from whatever source you look at, some places say it's £5 extra a year, some places say it's £50 extra a year. It's all crap though.

Ultimately, the insurance companies are excluding plenty of people by stupid pricing, hence a lot of people are driving uninsured.

As said above, if all the uninsured drivers were suddenly insured, would premiums drop.... No.. It'd just go straight onto some corrupt banking conglomorates bottom line.

  • This may be a narrow minded view..but the lowest common denominator for me is "I'm being a good little boy and paying tax, insurance etc so why should he/she get away with not paying it? what makes them so special?"
  • I'd report someone who was dodging insurance and MoT - after all, that could affect me or people I care about.

However, screwing the Government out of Road Tax? I'd congratulate 'em :)

I wouldn't do it anonymously though - that's the cowards way.

lol, would rather do it anonymously and not suffer any repricutions thank you very much.
