which game console should i get next

Most game buying/playing members of the public are 21-35 year old males, Nintendo are purposefully aiming outside that demographic because they know they simply have no chance of competing with sony/MS

ps3 = £450 before you start. And not released till March at the best. How on earth can the poster above say the price has already been cut in Japan, when the thing hasn't even been released in Japan yet (!!!!?). Get real.

It doesn't have anything really over the 360 (HDMI? Heard the 360 rumours? 1080p? Heard the latest 360 update news? Blu-ray? A big gamble, it probably won't even take off just like betamax. Rechargeable controllers? They don't even rumble anymore and with 360 controllers you can just put rechargable AA's in. Online games subscription model? May work out more expensive if you're the type who plays alsorts of games). All the extras are just that, extras. That bump the price up considerably.

And if you believe the rumours, Image quality won't even be any better than the 360 - thats what all the initial delays earlier this year were about.

Beware the Sony hype machine, for it churns our fanboys like no tomorrow.

After loving my ps2 I'm begining to think that i'll be getting the xbox 360 especially if comes down in price before xmas. the major factor being no pro evo 6 for the ps3. shocking, sony dropped the ball there.
as for the wii dont think i'll bother can't really be bothered with nintendos big cute and cuddly cartoon games.

According to the official 360 magazine Sony will see the new pro evolution 6 but it wont be until the end of 2007 as they dont have enough time to develop it for lauch and apparantly this is also the same for the new WWE wrestling game

An article linked on the Inquirer website today suggests that PS3 games will be retailing more in the £39-52 range. It's a switch in strategy, connected with how Sony are getting royalties from 3rd party developers and is also connected with them trying to lower the price of the main PS3 console. Linky:

Since I only own an Xbox and mainly game on the PC, I'm not so bothered about upgrading my console. But if I do, it will be the Xbox 360 I get. The console's cheaper, the games are cheaper... you do the math!

Oh, I forgot to mention,

If you want to save a few quid on the 360 WiFi adapter, just buy an access point that has bridge mode (Most do, even the cheapest ones). New you can get them starting from about £35 (second hand 802.11b AP's can be got for £15).

Not quite as tidy, and uses an extra plug socket, but does the job just as well and saves some cash.

First off i was gonna get the PS3, seeing the price put me straight off it. Plus there forcing blu ray media on consumers for no "real" reason

£425 for the console alone is extorshornate or whatever :P

Im considering importing one as It has been confirmed a price cut in JPN plus the PS3's are region free.

I dont see a price cut in the near future in UK, simply because we probably wont.

Unless the price of the PS3 comes down by ALOT im sticking with me 360
