She may be even more shocked if she visits the site and the first thing she sees is the face of the person who recommended the site! :rotfl:0

I hate the sort of people who say "just do it and then worry about how you’ll work it all out later". It does explain some of people that really do get over their head without even thinking about it.0

Way to go Martin :money:, I hope she takes your advice and the valuable advice on this site.
I keep reminding everyone at work about all the things they should be doing to become more savvy (invariably quoting the articles on this site or sending them the relevant link). Once they've taken the courage to break the mental barrier thats been making them do the same thing day in and day out, they never look back.
The downside is occasionally someone will come over to speak to me, look at the expression on my face and say "you're now going to tell me how much cheaper I could have bought 'X', I knew I would walk away depressed!" :rotfl:There's always someone bigger and better, smarter and stronger but there's only one YOU!:j
Proud to be a MF and DF MSE after following advice here and breaking the ground-in mental barriers to change! :cool:0 -
Good on you Martin! I know it takes you a bit of courage to do it, so glad you did on this occasion.0

erm.......if you'd said all that lot to me I would have thought you were some looner completely out of his tree and there would have been a sign of recognition in my eye too..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I remember when we bought our house. I don't think I knew or used mse then and I remember our financial person telling us that we could get a mortgage for "x" amount but forgot to add "but of course you have to pay it back !".0

Have you ever thought they might not be on the net?
Just in case you should carry one of your books around: The Money Diet; The Three Most Important Lessons You've Never Been Taught; Thrifty Ways For Modern Days. They might be a better way of introducing your work to them.
By the way, will the books be updated soon?Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.0 -
You, and everyone else for that matter should do this more often...
Would you allow someone to walk in front of a car if you noticed they hadn't noticed the danger and weren't going to stop?
Really messing your finances up like that can be just as devastating (I know from personal experience how devastating) as being run over (no personal experience of this thankfully) and it can take years longer to recover from.0 -
You could've kept quiet but you chose to try to help a stranger. Good for you Martin. An act of kindness.:cool:10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0
