Do any of you lovely peeps have any recommendations on websites or the best place to get some stuff to put in kids party bags?
Was loathe to use Toys R Us etc as they always seem so expensive.

I got stuff off ebay for my daughter party, but for my sons I tried a different aproach and just put a few sweets and a slice of cake in as tbh I HATE the plastic toys that you get in party bags because its just more tat in the house.Shut up woman get on my horse!!!0

I also hate party bag tat. Lately I have usually put a book in, so long as I can find a box set of books at a reasonable price. Last year I found some Rainbow Fairies books in a set which worked out at about £1 each, this year I found Roald Dahl books for same price. All kids and some parents have commented that this is a very good idea. So I put book + couple sweets + cake, and I buy plain white "sandwich" bags which are v cheap (Ebay) and my daughter decorates them.0

Where do you find the books that cheap? thats a great idea.Shut up woman get on my horse!!!0

I agree with the book idea. I too have done it and it was much cheaper than the plastic rubbish which normally goes in the bin.0

Wilkinsons, Alworths, Tesco, and Asda do good cheap party bag fillers. Or I have bought pre-filled party bags from ebay before, I think I paid about £2-2.50 for disney princess ones that where good and look nice compared to the run of the mill party bags.
Another idea is to get a book or sticker book from a cheapy bookstore and give them that with a slice of cake?!0 -
Thanks for the suggestions - I like the idea of a book or something. Not a fan of the plastic tat but in this case it won't be coming home with me

What about home bargains? I picked up some hardback Thomas / Bob the builder / Mr Men books for 69p each, then added a pack of bubble mixture. (I also got party plates, cups and napkins from there really cheap which made cleaning up a lot quicker!)0

Whilst I've heard of Home Bargains via MSE I don't think they have any in the West Mids - at least not round where I live
