There was actually only a few spoonfuls of filling left over. So I ate it.

The addition of a teaspoonful of mustard powder was inspirational. :D

    :T :T :T

I have been lurking on this thread for a couple of days now and I had to come and say just how impressed I am, as it seems anyone who is anyone is hanging out here tonight!!

Pastry can be really hard to make, I have been known to end up with a crumbling mess on the floor before now  , and I can cook!! Both lots look amazing!

I'm now sitting here salivating, absolutley starving, no idea what to cook for dinner and knowing that my DH used the last of the frozen batches of pastry over the weekend so no chance of whipping up a quick pie! :o

Deffo going to do some roasties though!! YUM!!

Good luck to both of you, can't wait to see the finished products!

That looks like one of the 4 and 20 blackbirds that's getting baked in your pie MBE! Well done so far but remember the proof the cooking is in the eating so we need to see the empty plate too! ;)

How long does it usually take in the oven (for a BIG pie).

I'd say half an hour-ish, just keep your eye on it. It's done when it looks ready.

I'm amazed at how nice and shiny your cookware looks, doesnt seem to have any brown bits on them????

That's because I've lived off takeaways and ready meals for the last 10 years, everything is like new because it has never been used!

Sorry, It got eaten 30 seconds after the photo was taken :o , you have first pick on any of the others though.

To all those who have asked for roasties or a piece of pie, I will be portioning it up in about 5 minutes
  • I definitely think you could publish these threads Mr B.

Mine has been in over 25 minutes already and it's still not done, and it's a mere baby in comparison...

I hope you lot appreciate how much hard work it is, following the thread, taking and posting pictures, and doing the cooking. I, for one, am plum tuckered-out, to put it politely. :D
