Watching Sky on a different tv in the house?

the magic eye is the best option imo and will give best results, with an additional remote control. wires can be hidden/run neatly around the house.
mine is a new house too, it all looks very neat and tidy.
from my past experience the wireless sender picture quality was not as good, and it interfered with my wireless router.
That may have been true with early 2.4 GHz videosenders but the latest 5.8GHz ones should not interfere in the least and also improve quality of reception.0 -
We had video senders and the neighbours wee able to change our channels, soon had it hard wired.0

Thanks for all the advice! I must admit I'm even more confused now, than before!!

We've had one of these for 2 years: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5347926/Trail/searchtext%3EVIDEO+SENDER.htm
Perfect.. very little interference and you can control your other TV (we use it for Sky also) from the other room
You do not need a Magic eye with this.. there is a little infra-red emitter on the 'sender' box. There is an infra-red receiver on the 'receiver' box (eg. the one in your bedroom).
It sends the infra-red signal over the wireless to control your sky box.. you just need to position the emitter somewhere it can't be seen (but pointing at your sky box)0 -

That's fantastic, thanks! Just the sort of thing I was looking for, no wires, or drilling required, and a good price as well! If I could thank you twice I would!!

hi, read the reviews on the sender at argos before you buy. i would not purchase this.
its up to you what you buy, but the best option for picture quality is to get it hard wired with a magic eye.
as said ive had both and the magic eye is far superior.0 -
At least he can take it back to Argos if it's no good.. if you're using this on a small bedroom TV, the quality is finehi, read the reviews on the sender at argos before you buy. i would not purchase this.

Glad you have had a good experience, however, these do suffer badly from interference especially from internet wireless networks and cordless phones, either yours or you neighbours, and other sources.
You can buy higher spec versions http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=5.8ghz+wireless+av&hl=en&aq=f that donot suffer so much, but the cost of hardwiring would be pretty much the same.0 -

Well, in my home we have a baby monitor, DECT phones, a wireless cctv camera, our wifi network and 4 of my neighbours wifi networks. Do you know when we get interference on the video sender? When someone walks past the receiver... Saying they suffer badly is a bit of an over reaction.0 -

No its not, like I said I'm glad you have had a reasonably good experience but most others do not.
This kind of thing is qualitative and I suppose what is expectable to some is not to others.0
