Hiya, not going to be a NSD as have Tesco shop coming tonight. But...I have calculated this into what else I need to buy for the week and will get them today to make room for more NSDs later in the week (I am getting the hang of this :D)

  • #5 for me today please!!

No spending today as I'm having fun executing the maggots that have appeared in our wheelie bin over the last two weeks as the binmen didn't take it when we were on holiday two weeks ago, even though we left it on the drive....they don't seem to use their legs these days!

Its so disgusting...ugh...... even found some cockroaches drowned at the bottom...has never happend before....it just takes one little fly to start it off...... Now taking the bags from it down the dump as if I put them back in, even though they are now double wrapped it will start all over again!

Right back to my little friends........

I was desperate to be a donor but my veins go into stealth mode whenever a syringe comes close :o There was one lady at our doctor's surgery who could find a very small vessel on the back of my hand sometimes, but she's left now & I'll have to go to our closest hospital--8 miles away, car park fees & interminably long waiting times --for blood tests in the future. Having said that, the last time I went there SIZE=1]& before my nice lady came to our gp surgery[/SIZE they really struggled & had to call a supervisor!

    BMF's Rules for NSD.
or "The way I use the Challenge".
    1. If I put the money 'in the jar' for--e.g.--the milkman on a spendy day, the day he calls for his money shall remain an nsd providing I buy nothing else.
    2. On those occasions I have to pay for parking at the hospital, dentist, etc they will NOT be included in my spends as they are essential. [It would also include 'emergency' prescriptions but as I have regular meds I have a prepaid certificate for those.]
    3. Travel to & from work & hospital appts etc are NOT included unless I forgot to get petrol on an already spendy day
    4. Utilities & housing are NOT included, but everything else is; food, gifts, socialising :rotfl:[I'm laughing cuz I can't remember what that involves :p]

So...say I order a perfume for me muvva from a bing-bong lady & she will deliver & want payment next Tuesday. I know it will be £12:75 SIZE=1]it's a pretty bottle I guess![/SIZE so when I go for some food supplies on Friday this week, I also need to put the £12:75 'in the jar'.
I take me muvva for a check-up & we come straight home after her appointment = nsd. OR muvva's check-up + a cuppa in the tea rooms = spend.
Car off the road so I catch the bus to work = nsd BUT! I buy a bar of choc while waiting for the bus home = spendy....hope this is making sense confused-smiley-008.gif

I have my quartet playing quietly in the corner as I declare No 4 for yesterday. They may do requests if I ask them nicely--currently working thru Tears for Fears back catalogue music-smiley-026.gif & perhaps PDD's aliens would like to do vocals? Very Best Wishes to those with Celebrations to...errrmm..celebrate :D & here's to keeping dry sometime today!

Phew! just dropped in for a quick browse but think I am going to have to wait until I get home tonight to catch up on all the posts.

Thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes - and happy birthday Miche for yesterday too. I wasn't ignoring you all yesterday and being terribly rude not saying thank you, but I had a whole day offline which is virtually unheard of these days. Had a lovely day partaking in some retail therapy with my mum, then dinner on the way home. I don't know where the day went, it just flew by. OH had to work which was rather unfortunate but we're going to have a belated b'day dinner later in the month (I like to eeek my b'day out as long as I can :D) Was a bit of a spendy day for me yesterday, did take some things back (totalling £120) but then also broke my resolve about those towels I'd seen before and bought two new bath towels and two new hand towels... wild I know :rotfl::rotfl: but they are v.v. nice :o

Mum treated me to some lovely bits, some nice body scrub and foot cream from the Soap n Glory range (smells divine!) and some new wardrobe 'essentials' too ;) so all in all a lovely day.

Right, nose back to the grindstone, am aiming for a NSD today to make up for falling off the wagon slightly yesterday, will let you know how it goes later. xx

My DH had numerous pint of blood and (mainly) plasma during his chemo treatment, so I'm desperate to get back to donating.

Unfortunately things seem to conspire against me, and everytime there's a local session (or I have a free day to go into the city centre) I seem to end up back on my strong pain-killers/anti-inflams - and they won't take it then :(

I absolutely detest needles (always warn them I'll tense up, but refuse the anaesthetic as that's another needle), but have given blood since 'way back when' (having had several years off I'm still a couple of donations off my silver status) much to the stunned amusement of friends and family - but I've always worked on the basis that if I give, then there's more chance there'll be supplies should I or a loved one ever need it.

Declaring today as NSD #5 on the basis I'm going nowhere today.....

and that includes work :o My leg wasn't good yesterday evening, cramped up a couple of times overnight, and was still stiff & sore this morning - to the point I couldn't see me managing an 8 hour shift (plus waks there and back). Kneeling down (which I did whilst trying some light housework in order to stop the muscle siezing completely) was pure agony a couple of hours ago, so probably as well I didn't go in as I have to do this at least hourly to fill shelves.

Work weren't best pleased, but weren't nasty about it which is something - turns out the other lass also phoned in sick this morning, so instead of 4 of us in the bakery there are only 2 (and they're the manager and the trainee baker). I did momentarily consider backing down and going in, but stopped myself from being a total mug as I know it would almost certainly have meant longer off later (and even more pay lost)

  • Would like to record my 3/15 NSD. Walked into work because of the tube strike and didn't even think about jumping in a cab (a) it would have been RIDICULOUSLY expensive and (b) I figure anything that will keep me fit has to be a good thing (VERY ANNOYING THOUGH ALL THOSE STRIKERS OUT THERE!!!!). Had a fabulous evening at Legally Blonde last night and would thoroughly recommend it to everyone! The music and dancing was excellent, it was so funny and such good fun. Having never seen the film before, it is slightly (actually not so slightly) ridiculous but it's very, very enjoyable (although I would say definitely more for the girls - I think it was about a 95% female audience!).

Used the Zizzi vouchers from this website and it was such a good deal! Ended up having seafood risotto for £6 that was meant to be £11.95 and everyone else was super chuffed that I printed off lots of extras.

So... all in all, Tuesday was quite an expensive day, but definitely worth it.

Keep up the good work everybody! Lucy-Lu x
