Just reading through the day's posts (if I leave it too long it takes forever to catch up) - I see we're all in very wedding'y moods atm then! Lol! I knwo what you all mean though, they are lovely but just end up soooo expensive for guests, the last one we went to cost us £130 alone just for a hotel room - wouldn't have minded but I barely spent any time in it.

I've done some of the day's housework, off to get those pesky command strips and paint before tackling some of my own weeding too.

Good afternoon everyone, pleased to report another NSD achieved! Postman woke me up at 11:45 bonging the bell, but had disappeared leaving a card saying he had tried to deliver a package....Grrrrhhh! I was wide awake by then, so I have only had about three and a half hours sleep. Methinks a certain Nargle is going to be on autopilot tonight.......thank goodness it's my last night shift.

    So far today I've :-

    got up
    had breakfast
    got washed/dressed
loaded the car with stuff for the recycling points at the tip (cardboard which included all toilet roll inners from this year!, empty tetra packs, and the combi oven that went kaput on Monday night)
taken the stuff to the tip
called into work to compete and hand in a leave request for next June (hoping to sign up for a half-marathon , but want to be sure I can have the following week off first)
    had lunch
finally finished sorting the main meals in my 'to end of December' meal plan :T
(so how come, with only a very few meals not being freezer based, my freezer stocklist looks like they're still gonna be filled to capacity on 31st Dec!?!?)

now I need to drag myself off the laptop and get on with some serious housework !!!!

Also have some turkey mince defrosting (to make up into several portions of a meal, 2 of which will be used tonight and the others put into the freezer for when my meal plan says I'm having them), and some diced turkey (froze as two large bags, so going to defrost, cook, and repack in smaller quantities ready for when I need it for adding to rissotto or enchilladas), and also the large pork joint (tea tomorrow, with the bulk of it then being sliced and packed into portions for the freezer for me over the next few months)

    Hi again all

Hmmmmmm well, this is very not good :( Am managing not to spend but completely filled one bin bag with assorted rubbish from only one corner of the bathroom  Oh dear, didn't realise how cluttered and slovenly I had become over the years. I must admit it is easier without Orphan chasing me and stealing stuff ftom the bag but I'm sure that can't be an excuse *****surely it can can't it *****

Anyway, off to do more and get some washing on

    :hello:

If I ever needed reminding of why I do this - today was a case in point - went to Lidl for a bottle of wine for niece's pressy and came out with 2 pizzas, face cream. lemonade and assorted trivia totalling £18.83! The wine was only 4 squids! Mind you the pizza is cheaper than our usual Sat Night Takeaway, and there was a day far, far in the past where I would spend well over £18 on a face cream alone in the days of invisible mney, ie credit cards
Then I phoned sis to arrange a time to go and see them before they leave for uni tomorrow only to be told they are too busy to"fit us in" and dont know when they'll be around, so I left the bag of presents outside their door and stomped off in the huff.:mad:

Still, a good walk with OH and doglet and a bag of chips and an Irn Bru restored my equilibrium! The beach was beautiful, nice and sunny and lots of folks enjoying the weather! We're going back tomorrow as there is a sea swim race on, so we'll go and watch, maybe take some sarnies and a flask.............free free free!;)

Oh dear, I bet you were looking forward to seeing your niece before she left for her first steps into the big wide world (or until she returns home at Xmas with a big bag of washing :rotfl:) At least you got your chip and Irn-Bru - so scottish, the only time I drink it is when we're up in Glasgow - although I am not sure how good a drink that carries a warning 'may stain fabric if spilt' is for your innards :rotfl:

I have been a busy wee bee today, hoovered, put a wash on and stuck it out in the glorious september sunshine, then ruined what could have actually been a NSD - went to Mr H*mebase to get command strips and a tester pot of paint to cover up where I pulled it off the wall last night, they had command strips but no tester pot (helpfully told 'we'll get a delivery sometime in the week ) - so in fact I could have waited to buy the command strips until I have to go back anyway if I'd have had my brain working. Oh wel....:( Since then I have been out mowing the weeds...errr...I mean lawn, and cutting back plants - four black bags later I am pooped. Wonder if OH will make us a cuppa ...
