    Thank you beanielou x

Thank you spoon, I think posting daily might help me stay focused so I'll try and be more regular in October.

I'll have a look around at the other challanges and see what else I could get involved in.

My first thought about the hobby was, seriously no time. But thinking about it maybe it would do me some good. I'm lucky enough to be a SAHM, which I love, but I do feel like I'm slightly losing myself at the moment. I'm at the point at the moment where I have so much to do, I'm completely overwhelmed, don't know where to start so more often than not, I don't start. Cue the bad tempered headless chicken trying to catch up at the last minute :(

Oh dear, I am full of self pity today!!

Ooh Honey, I am all to familiar with the 'bad tempered headless chicken' syndrome, normally followed by a huge 'i cant cope anymore' paddy! Stick with the lovely ladies and gents on here, full of good advice and very very good at cheering you up.

I'd echo what Spoon said, lists are the way forward - mine are always lists in my head, but I break them down into the following:
    - Things that have GOT to be done today
    - Things that need doing but the world wouldn't end if they weren't done today
    - Nice things that you enjoy doing (e.g. I love cooking but don't always have the time, so my treat is an afternoon in the kitchen batch cooking, or a bit of gardening, or walking the dog)
I always try and aim to do all of the first list, one from the second list and one from the third. Its all in my head but helps keep me sane! Otherwise I implode from the ridiculous amount of pressure I put on myself to get everything done (which I did last weekend!). Don't be afraid to ask people to help, and look after yourself :)

I got NSD number 17 today so have exceeded my target, woohoo!! Not sure what to go for in October, I have social events every weekend, plus a hen weekend in Portugal (:j:j:j) - I think I'll go for 16 again as I need to recover from my grocery overspend this month.

Thanks for all your hard work running this thread Spoon :):) xx

Hi Honey xx I find that this really helps me, somehow when I don't post I lose the focus and seem to spend. it's not often that I don't post then get to report an NSD :rotfl: I do exactly the same though when I get tired or overworked, spend on rubbish in the shop on the way home. funnily though coming on here every day also seems to focus me to get to bed earlier and look after myself more so it's a winner all the way round :)

Have managed my revised target today so have managed 17 NSDs in September :j froglet is looking forward to having a fleecy friend;)

I have worked out what the £15 on the leccy meter was, apparantly it's my dual fuel discount so that explains it and also means they wont be wanting it back :D

Right best get back to work now, will see you all next month. I am hoping to up myself to 17 to start with for October  Will put target into October thread

    :hello:

DFD Need to August 2027 :(

  • Honey, just to echo what everyone else has said, posting for support is definitely really helpful, & don't beat yourself up when you do spend, sometimes life just happens! :D

I did it!!!! Number 17 & a sheep for me please Spoon :j
So glad it's October tomorrow as really need a spendy day to get more milk & some blades for my jigsaw... Oh how i live the high life :rotfl:

    Hi everyone.

Thought I would make it on for the last day of the month!

Must agree with everyone who says it helps to post on here. I've not been on for a few days and must admit that I haven't an idea what's going on (but then I think I may have had other things occupying my mind! :()

Anyway, must stay focused. Not sure last time I counted NSDs (will check in a mo and edit post) but Sunday and Monday were spend days. I think Tuesday and Wednesday were NSDs and mortgage came out today so another spend day. I think that might be 21 NSDs. Oh I haven't a clue, just rambling now (but in a good way):rotfl:

Right, before I ramble anymore I'm going and I'll be back. Might even have a song for you........

Edit: Yes, I can confirm 21 NSDs for September :T:T. So that's a frog, a sheep (and shall I be cheeky and ask for the third one too?)

Spoon, here's a dancing skeleton specially for Halloween! hal_skeleton.gifhal_skeleton.gif

Thanks again for all your kind words. I have been reading, even if I haven't been posting.

    And to quote Barney:
    "I love you,
    You love me,
    We're one happy family,
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too.

Nutter??? Noooooooooooo she never mentioned it (Cheryl you can pay me later ;))
I don't think "nutter" was quite the word used in our PMs :p

Just as well I'm not allowed to shop on a close and clean shift, 'cos if I were I don't think I'd have made my target !!! There were at least half a dozen laaaaarge tuna steaks in clearance tonight, and 4 of them made it to a third reduction. After I saw the chap doing that round I didn't dare go and see what they'd been reduced to, as I just know I'd have cried about not being able to get them :(

(Not that I actually have the freezer space for them, but I'm sure I could have found something to pull out and use over the next couple of days to make enough room :o)

I was soooooo close! Even putting money aside and everything for today's spend!

But then I only went up woke up with conjuctivitis! I can categorically state that thinking of things to make you cry in order to try and prise your sticky eyes open when you get up is not a good start to the day.

Neither is standing in a queue in the pharmacy, the harsh lighting stinging your eyes and a those in the queue looking at you and wondering whether you've spent the morning crying your eyes out or whether you managed to stab both your eyes with the toothbrush this morning!

Nor is walking into work with your colleagues giving you suspiscious looks, wondering why you have just fallen out of bed, dragged yourself backwards through a bush, scraped you hair back from your face, doused yourself in acohol gel (hands, to stop inection spreading) and tried to pretend you're professional at the morning meeting!

    And so the day progressed!

So I filled the tank with deisel as I've a rather tedious drive very early in the morning and I was kinda regretting the fact that I'd have to get out of bed extra early for the sake of fuel; if today had gone as planned!

So only 11/12... but maybe I can get tomorrow as my first for October (I might have to pay for parking though.) I'll be keeping my target at 12.
