  • As you bought the replacement bars from Halfords as well, I am suprised you did not take the opportunity to give back/exchange the noisy ones, and get a refund in this way?

    The fact that Halfords replaced them implies some acceptance on their part that the noisy bars were not satisfactory. Why else would a customer buy one set of bars and then soon after replace them? Although I expect Halfords would dream up some alternative reason e.g. an upgrade which was at the customer's discretion.
