I know my own and others make no noise, or have i just imagined that because you think you know all.

What you buy at halfords is overpriced tat, that will inevitably make noise, a decent set of mont blancs or paddy hopkirks, which cost a lot in comparison, inevitably, dont. Quality improves with price, strange isnt it?

Oh and not all roofbars are square, funnily enough, they dont make noise either.
What manufacturer of roof bars do you think Halfords use then ?

As ive said, cheap tat that will make noise. If you read i never argued that. I just made a point that decent bars shouldt and indeed dont make noise. And ofcourse, you will struggle to find anything decent in halfords.

    You've gone awfully quiet 4743Hudson.

Almost as quiet as your roofbars...

Sorry, did i deprive you of your argument? I grew bored of the back and forth argument. I know some bars dont make noise, you just seem to make an issue out of that just because you havnt witnessed it.

If they make excessive noise then the OP should get a refund as they are not fit for purpose.

Sorry I didn't hear any of that over the roar of my cheap roofbars... :rotfl:

Don't Halfords sell those as well?

Not sure, but theyre not cheap tat like the majority of halfords products. Like ive been saying, you really get what you pay for so asking halfords for the cheapest set you get is obviously going to mean low quality.

Edit, no they dont sell the aero bars, they sell the lower down models for more money, hence my use of the word halfrauds. Charging more for less.

I don't think you've quite grasped the meaning of the word 'fraud'.

I don't see how Halfords are committing fraud by selling products at a particular price.

Its not my own terminology. You hear this word a lot in the trade and on motoring forums.

Its no big secret that Halfords offer rubbish service and often inferior products for inflated prices (in comparison to other reputable motor factors eg charging £3 for a £0.02p bulb when others charge around the 50p mark)

The use of the work fraud only seems to have been used due to its similarity to the fords of halfords. The impact and message is the same.

    I must have missed it.

Since you've used the word "Halfrauds" a couple of times in this thread, are you implying that Halfords are somehow acting fraudulently?

A bit daft having a go at 4743Hudsonj when Halfrauds is a well known nickname, a bit like parcelfarce (269 hits for halfrauds on MSE forums if you search). Makes you look a bit ignorant about cars if you've not heard it before.

A have to agree with 4743Hudsonj that good quality roofbars do not make a noise which is sufficiant to be heard above the existing roadnoise made by the car.

Do you not read, i said the use of the word fraud is only used as a) it sounds similar and b) its give a negative impression of the company.

As the above poster has sad halfrauds is a very common nickname. mostly in the trade but more and more so out of the trade.

Its used as whilst theyre not fraudulent, they are a complete joke and plain rubbish.

So just to be clear here, you don't think that they commit fraud or act fraudulently?

No, i dont, its a name to place a negative image on halfords. I didnt make it up. Your either just thick and having trouble to understand this or being a pedantic annoyance to this thread.

    I suspect the latter.

I dont really want to argue, ive seen you post good stuff but you seem to have taken so badly to somebody with a different experience/view to you and the simple use of a common nickname.

I didn't say you made it up!? Where are you getting this stuff?

I didnt say you said i did..... But you seem to be having a pop at the us of fraud in the name so im just reiterating that i didnt come up with it so im not the one to groan at about it.
