What level of care has she been awarded? Many people don't believe that a reward can be lowed on reconsideration/ appeal, but this is a good example.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • It wasn’t an reconsideration(Just a Balls up by the DWP)

You can ask the DM to write down in detail how and why they made their decision, it can make a reconsideration or appeal easier if you are able to prove that they have misunderstood the disability/ or how if effects you.

She is getting Lower rate Mobility which was the original award.

My daughter used to get LRM & MRC for Epilepsy & Cerebral Palsy.

Her award was for life. I notified them of a change of circumstances in Oct 2009. They stopped the award completely in Dec 2009.

I am still trying to get it back!

I phoned DLA today and was told my daughter was not even on their system....she's been on it for the past 17 years...

Don't get me started on DLA...almost a year of fighting and she's disappeared off the system :rotfl:
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • My husband use to get DLA for his Epilespy. At the time even tho he was on medication he was still have fits (siezures what ever you want to call them :D ) and they would occur at anytime without warning. He had HRC and LRM. HRC as he could fit and fall at any time including out the housae, whilst cooking, in the shower etc etc.

Thankfully he has (touchwood) not had a fit for over a year :D so has had his DLA stopped ( as it should have)

Just wanted to post to say that yes you can get DLA but it can be a bit of a struggle to get it (we had to go to tribunal after they said in writing that he had no risk of falling :( )
