When you apply online for a credit card you are credit searched the minute you tick the box (how we use your personal data) Equifax full search, should say..Bank..Initial Credit Application search..When you sign the agreement they follow up with Experian...AVU etc.
Natwest/RBS are one of the banks that search both agencies.
Hope this helpsNatwest gold..Limit £1750 bal £970..Vanquis Limit £3000 bal £0..Littlewoods..Limit £1200 bal 0..Additions direct..Limit £4900 bal £1356..Empire Limit £6200 bal £152..Jd williams..Limit £1100 bal £130..Simplybe..Limit £1500 bal 265,,Fashion world..Limit £1400 bal £145 Jacamo..Limit£125 bal 0

It wasn't intuitive to meIf you ask me, this is exactly the behaviour that prevents you from "shopping" around for credit, and would be much nicer if it would be a "quotation search" until you decide to accept the offer.
Nicer, obviously for the customers only
The nighttime application (the cao.rbos.com one is not used between 24:00-06:30) from RBS is a bit more explicit (emphasis mine):
- This application will take approximately 10 minutes
- For your security the application process will timeout if left idle
- Your application will be credit scored throughout the application, if you do not meet the credit score for the account you have applied for we will continue your application for a Key Account, which is our basic bank account.
As you explained, at least an interrupted application trashes equifax only which is used by less lenders directly.Enjoy the silence...0 -

I remember way back in Dec 08 applying for an overdraft online (after reading a post that a 'pre-approved ' limit may be shown.
Flicked through the pre-filled application, nothing showing as approved so exited the application...Yes I had been searched BEFORE reaching the endNatwest gold..Limit £1750 bal £970..Vanquis Limit £3000 bal £0..Littlewoods..Limit £1200 bal 0..Additions direct..Limit £4900 bal £1356..Empire Limit £6200 bal £152..Jd williams..Limit £1100 bal £130..Simplybe..Limit £1500 bal 265,,Fashion world..Limit £1400 bal £145 Jacamo..Limit£125 bal 0
