  • Found your diary happy and just posted! Haven't read it all yet, will work my way through later. Only had 5 weeks this summer, didn't break up until 30 Jul! I know most people (including my husband, who often reminds me) only get 5 weeks a year, but I am grateful and do appreciate the holidays. When I'm back my life ceases to exist until the next holiday. Good thing is I won't spend much then! :)
  • Did the Alpe d'huez bends in a coach, goodness knows how the coaches do it! Definitely won't be cycling if we do it, plan is a motorbike holiday! I struggle cycling on the flat!

Teach juniors, have mixed year3/4 this year so 7, 8 and 9 years. They're gorgeous! 4 is little, I think it's too little, they're still babies really. I trained in Bristol where you are now, loved it.

No plans for Feb yet. Friend should be getting married first weekend of half term so it won't be a whole week. Did a short break in Chamonix one year and that worked really well so will probably do something similar, providing all credit cards paid off - which they will be!

My OH has a motorbike, we toured round Scotland on it when we first got together (almost 10 years ago now!).

He has been over to France with the lads for a week's tour on the bike, I would love to go with him one day.

We went round France for 2 weeks in the car a couple of years ago, which was one of my favourite holidays. We didn't book any accommodation and just stopped somewhere different every night.

  • We drove to Vienna last year, that was great too. We did book accommodation though, just in case we couldn't find anything!

Right, I've already spent a long time here this morning, will post again later.

  • I have to admit i havent been on many adventurous holidays alot of relatives live abroad some in spain, friends in france antibes so we generally go there i went to the domicon for the first time and im now looking to go to amsterdam in march, with this d**t i dont like to look at holidays i have been to new york twice and loved it :) i do intend to do some sight seeing as the finances ease up abit and im trying to start now, looking at holidays and booking them if i choose to and paying monthly as able, i dont see it right to deprive ourselves of living as long as it never effects the debt reduction, lol late night talking so il be probably back stepping tomorrow lol xxx

If you want to go to new York a 3rd time, just let me know! I flew with BA and we managed to get an upgrade to business, flatbeds, silver cutlery, champagne, molton brown toiletries, hand made chocolates. New York was fab too!

Whilst it is essential to get the debt down, you do still have to live. We're going to be very frugal because hopefully it will be short term pain for long term gain. The first time I did it, it was a longer term plan. You'll get there and hopefully have some nice holidays along the way.
  • Thanks rum, oooh that sounds lush :-) hand made chocs special cutlery and extra special toiletries hehe I like a nice flight haha. It's the sex and city girl in me lol x

  • Expensive day yesterday, drinks and lunch with friends, £17, tip, £1.00, Tesco shopping wine & flower gifts, bottle of water and a card, £30, car valet £4.

I know car valet sounds really extravagant but my niece is doing jobs to save up for an ipod touch, her going rate to vacuum and polish your car is £2.50 but she did all my windows too, inside and out, removed dead flies and polished the badges. As she said 'I do the boot too so you do get good value.' Bless her. Probably should have given her more but she was thrilled. It's her birthday next week, now going shopping for that, just a book as the main present will be money for her ipod, might get her a little extra treat though.

Husband has been very good and not spent anything!

    Spending Update:
    30 Aug £53 Petrol
    31 Aug £17.97 Aldi
    1 Sep £17 + £1 Drinks and Lunch
    1 Sep £30 Gift Shopping
    1 Sep £4 Car Valet

When I'm back at work there will be lots of no spend days!
