Have a look at the Fuji online store;
https://secure.fujifilm.co.uk/shop/consumer/digital/digital-cameras/view-all
Very pleased with mine.
..and I also noted, that when you go through to this link, some of the camera's have the option of 'Pet Detection' on them.
!!!!!!!
I'm loving this!!:rotfl:Is that the 'Ace Ventura' mode?0 -
try this camera comparison http://www.digicambuyer.co.uk/cameras/search/
although i'm not sure if you'll get much for £1000 -

i got the fuji s2500hd fujishop £229 online at www.bestcameras.co.uk £164.99 free mini table tripod about 10cm lol and free 3 year guarntee best i could see around btw i like the camera as well will do for my needs they also do really good bundle deals as well! i would find the model u want and then search for best price but make sure you get uk stock and not a company that uses grey stock. read reviews from customers on idependant customer customer review sites.

Your right, though, it's well worth looking around.0 -
The casio exilm EX-Z2000 has had superb reviews,i have seen it for £135 online, Trusted Reviews gave it 9 / 10. The battery is a whopping 1200ma allowing you to take 580 pics.
Most of the Casio range take especially good pictures in low light conditions,but overall they dont have too many niggles,a serious compact choice for a keen photographer max lens stop is f/2.8 the lens zoom is
equivalent to 26-130mmnever put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow0 -

BarbC- Err99 is a lens error, usually refers to a locked lens, wrong lens, or dirty contact points. Easiest way to usually sort is to take the lens off, turn camera off, back on again, off again and replace lens before turning on.
It is usually a confusion at the contact points- when the lens is removed you will see the gold contact points on both camera and lens. Clean off to remove dust/grease/dirt.... do NOT use a tissue for this as it will leave traces of fibres everywhere.0
