Before buying, most are better in certain areas than others. I have a canon and it takes brilliant pictures, however in low light, or lowish light and movement (pubs and clubs) probably not the best there is.

£30k camera? wow...Im in the wrong business :T

I like that write "deposits" taken...when they actually mean not so small mortgages...

there seems to be a few camera under 100 quid, has anyone had any direct experience with these?
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!
  • Never paid less than £130 for a camera myself.

My folks on the other hand bought one from Asda.. not sure on brand or that but they seem to like it.

For 4.99 more you can get:

Which is the silver version of what the other half has... and it's pretty respectable!

When I looked at that camera I initally thought that it was something that had been mispriced. It appears it hadn't and really costs over £26k.

Knowing my wife and I, we'd still look awful in the pictures even when they're taken with that. If it could automatically alter the photograph so neither of us look like we've had some kind of stroke, it'll be worth the money.

Photos are far more about composition, optics and lighting.. a 49mp image won't be any better than a 3mp image if it's not composed properly or you use a rubbish lens with it.

Well, would you believe that because I started making noises about " What camera would be a good one?" in an effort to get some tips about what himself might like when I bought him the 'surprise' present - the cheeky monkey !!!!!!ed off and bought one from the Canon refurb store on ebay!!
Its an EOS 450D (apparently) which he got for £320 instead of £800ish.
I would wax lyrical about the bargainous nature of this purchase, but the damn thing is showing an 'error 99' and has to go back.:((It is covered by a Canon warranty as it is an official outlet.)
Its just not meant to be I think - but thanks for your suggestions anyway. Maybe I should get the Hasselblad just to be sure next time eh?!:rotfl:
