Agree with thatI wouldn't touch a diesel Saab (as much as I love Saabs) but to be honest I'd shy away from most modern diesels unless I was doing star trek mileage... even then I'd be hesitant!
My mrs has a 98 diesel 1.9 Polo, no DPF, DMF, no turbo... just a basic diesel engine like god intended
I wouldn't entertain selling it! In 3 years it's cost me a set of glow plugs & a windscreen + the usual tyres, brakes etc.
With all the crap needed to get a diesel up to emission standards they are no longer the best option...IMOAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Honda
Saabs are just crap only thin good about them is the air vents
ugly too with the crome dame edna style glasses around the headlamps0 -

Tsk....nothing at all wrong with a petrol Saab. Plenty of performance for your cash if you buy 2nd hand & they have the best seats in the universe.
Honda are similar to VW & are trading on past reputation...neither are built to the same standard as a few years ago!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
still ugly tho
unless its the 9-3 aero0 -

To be fair, the way the cup holders unfold on the 9-3 is a thing of beauty!
I've recently taken delivery of a 58 plate Civic Type-S i-CDTI as its got 6 months left on its lease for work and to be frank, I wish I had first driven it before I've agreed to it. It ride is very very hard, I'm not a fan of the driving position and the engine is no where near as strong as I'd imagined (it hates pulling off in 2nd for example). Saying that however, it does look very pretty with the Type- S trim and in bright red paint!0 -

Why on earth do you pull off in second?0 -
...and then someone will be on here next week sayin they bought a bright red Civic diesel Type S from a dealer and the clutch/DMF is playing up...0
