What's your comfort food? (Recipes please?)

not a recipe but mars bar and salt and vinegar crisps is gorgeous, lol0

I just have to have starchy carb food as well as something sweet. Toast with butter and marmalade and a cup of tea does the trick, or cake. Pasta hits the spot too. So filling. If I do crave chocolate it will be a mini timeout bar or some dark chocolate.0

Interesting article from todays Independent (with recipes)
"Lakeland, the kitchenware company, has reported a boom in baking tins, preserving jars and slow cookers. "

Had lamb hotpot a couple of weeks ago but quite fancy some rice pudding - haven't had that for ages.."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

For me its got to be that old scottish favourite. HM cloutie dumpling. Yumm..so many ways to eat it, plain, sliced with butter, fried as part of a breakfast treat fry up, or my all time favourite which is covered in lashings of custard0

Syrup or jam sponge for us too, especially as I found that they turn out fab done in the microwave. Even the kids can make them. Fantastic! I also love gypsy tart, gingerbread and apple crumble! I am getting hungry now so I had better go and make some!0

In France you can buy condensed milk in a tube - much easier!
My own love is my bread toasted till crisp and left in the toaster ill it's cooled a little, butter (don't like it melted into the toast) and marmite.
With a cup of instant coffee.
Had this for brekkie!0 -
Generously buttered toast with a whooole tin of spaghetti numbers.
Also a jacket potato with lashings of butter and beans.
I've only just started liking butter (i used to hate it as a kiddie) so I'm having loads!0 -
I like scrambled eggs as comfort food, my Dad used to make it for my when I was ill. It seems that it turns a lot of peoples stomachs the thought of eggs when ill (especially my Mam) but I love it and it's nice and easy to make in the microwave. For something sweet I find Twink's hobnobs do the trick!0
