You could always take a scientific approach to this: Buy 1 economy pack of 12 rolls and count how many days it takes your household to go through them. Then buy 12 rolls of say the 'Nicky' brand and again count how many days it takes your household to go through them.
Then divide the number of days it took for each by the cost of the 12 roll packs, i.e. 15 days / £1.29 VS 18 days / £2.97. Then you could see which one worked out better value for money. HTH.0 -

Not sure of the make but Aldi do a 9 for £1.99. the rolls are quite compacted and look small but there is a lot on the roll and they last a long time, unlike the value brands which are all puffery in my opinion.
May try the aloe vera ones that have been recommended.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I like the nouvelle 100% recycled paper and stock up during good offers (often at the co-op), typically getting 9 rolls for about £2.50. It's good thick sheets and I find it goes a long way.
I suppose I could buy slightly cheaper paper, but I like this one and because it's recycled it's much better for the environment.0 -

Does what its supposed to
I agree. 12 rolls last us a fortnight, this is for 4 adults, during the school holidays (2 teens in further education but adults sized!) So it should last even longer once they are back at college/uni. Bargain compared to what I used to spend on loo rolls and it's flat, not padded like some cheaper rolls, and soft enough, it doesn't chafe your skin or anything, definitely suitable for the job!0 -
We have tried the scientific approach. The expensive ones do NOT last twice as long as the Tesco Value ones so we stick to those. It is perfectly alright, does exactly what it is supposed to. I refuse to throw any more money down the drain than I have to. If newspaper would break up in the drains rather than blocking them I would use that!! I can't work out how they have the nerve to charge that amount for a strip of paper. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
